    Great deal
A great buy. I have only used on metal…with great success.

    Great but the packaging
So to the company that decided to shrinkwrap to the point that the plastic was melded to the file: Don’t. It was impossible to remove and came up in tiny tiny pieces and took WAY too long to remove.

Good file, product packaging is out of control.
The file is fine. The packaging is awful. It took me ten minutes to pick off the shrink wrap the file comes in. You can pick off one tiny shred after another. But unwrapping the whole file in one or even five attempts is impossible. I spent more of my money (thru time) on opening the product than I spent on the product. And why? To protect a steel file from the incidental damage it could experience during shipping? LOL

It’s what I wanted- here are the specs and a comment
I bought this file to smooth the holes from my pocket jig. It is just what I needed.I looked at several of the reviews before buying it, and I want to give others the specs on the file beyond it being 8″ long.At the tip, the diameter is 1/4″. Within 1/4″ of the length the shaft starts to increase in diameter, and within an inch it widens to 5/16″ for the rest of the shaft. The handle is comfortable, and to me, the teeth are somewhere between ‘second cut’ and ‘smooth.’My only negative statement is that the heavy duty shrink wrap on the shaft is overkill. I would suggest the manufacturer go to a cardboard sheath or dispatch a minion with every sale to peel the darned stuff off. It took me the better part of 20 minutes to get it off, all the while thinking words unfit for speech.

Having the file pop out all the time makes using this file rather annoying… not what you want when your using a tool daily, other than that it would have been a five star review… is it possible this is a manufacturing defect ?
