Works as good as I had hoped.
I thought seriously about not even ordering this. It looked a little “tricksey” to me. HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and examined the device. Obviously, I can’t verify material used but the material used appeared top quality in materials and manufacturing and handling. The design is great as well as the execution. There was a very slight depression and a very small icicle in the weld puddle. I have inspected many welds in my time and the puddle issues will not be a problem, I am sure. I took a small whetstone and smoothed off the icicle so it would not scratch my hand. Worked well. I grabbed a couple pieces from our ash tree to try it out. I used a rubber mallet to tap the head to make the one inch diameter cut for the cross piece. Used my new Mora Garberg to baton and smooth the piece to size. I placed this piece into the eye and then drilled a nice 1″ hole. After I removed the cross piece, I tapped it into the hole. It fit really well. I had thought of using it to make a ladder, however at 245lbs, I am not sure the 1″ diameter would take the weight even with a good piece of wood. Maybe I will just order the larger diameter one next time. But, the things you can use this to make are limited only by your imagination (emergency shelter, shack, rustic chairs, toys for the grandkids, monkey bars etc.) Overall finish and fit are very good. The size is awesome for the tool you get you get and the things you can do with it. In my opinion, I got my money’s worth on this purchase. Very impressed.

I was pleased with what I saw. The product looks well made most importantly the weld looks very well done. I was surprised at the quality of the sheath in a very good way. I checked the sharpness of the flutes and all were very sharp. I am excited to get out and give it a rigorous test.

Nice tool for bushcraft
Shipping was very quick and the item arrived as advertised. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet, but it looks well made and the cutting edges are sharp. The sheath is a nice addition to keep the tool sharp.

Great overall, needs modification for longer tenons.
Finally got around to using this. Overall excellent construction, great weld on mine and more robust than others Iâve seen. True to size 1.5â on both the auger and scotch eye. Only issue Iâve found is the inner diameter of the scotch eye isnât fluted out from the cutting point, making it extremely hard to get off after making a longer tenon. Even if just a fraction of a cm were milled out of the ID, maybe a quarter inch after the cutting edge, it would be a lot easier to use but the more pipe up against the newly cut tenon, the harder the friction fit. Iâm going to try and ream out the inside after the cutter with a dremel to remedy this but I hope they consider modifying the design a bit to accomdate longer tenons.

Ich hab meins zurückgeschickt. Hab es das erste mal mit ins Feld genommen und der erste Nagel den ich erstellt habe kam nicht mehr raus. Ich habe 2 std gebraucht um das Holzstück aus dem Loch zu bekommen. erst mit der Aale dem MeiÃel meines Victorinox Multitools ein Loch gemacht und dann mit der säge ein spalt gesägt. Anders bekommt man das Ding nicht raus, da man es nicht irgendwo auflegen und das Holzstück rausshclagen kann. Den Bohrer irgendwo einzudrehen und dann die SchweiÃstelle zu sehr zu belasten habe ich abgesehen.Weil man den Bohrer in der Hand halten muss um den Nagel zu schlagen, hab ich mich dabei 2 mal geschnitten. Die Löcher lassen sich 1a bohren aber den Nagel machen ist ziemlich stressig. Da schnitze ich mir lieber schnell ein passendes Holzstück. Ich hatte mir mehr erhofft, da ich Lust auf ein wenig Feld Bastelei habe. Aber so ist das eher eine Qual als ein Vergnügen. Besser ein Scotch eye Bohrer holen und die Nägel selber machen. Kommt auch günstiger.
