    Before you order
Check your hub motor to make sure its axle has flat sides. If it’s completely round, this torque arm won’t work. I have an older Bafang 250W 24V hub motor with a round axle and it was a no-go for it. But I’m keeping the kit, which is good quality, in case I have a use for it in the future. Incidentally the torque arms work best when mounted to the rear sides of the front fork. I saw a bit of disagreement online as to which side, front or back, was best. Then I saw a video that demonstrated the torque physics and convinced me that the rear side is the side to go with.

    Mandatory for ebike
Without these on ur powerful ebike, things will get ugly real quick. The power from the torque is too much and nuts will get loose, always check ur wheels and make sure they tighten. If not and without these torque arms on it, ur wheel will fly off. I felt a weird wobble and pulled over and the nut was lose turning it by hand. Thank God I had these torque arms holding it on if not doing 40mph and having wheel fly off doesn’t look like it would be much fun. Must have

Works without both torque arms on axle
For my cable grabbing axle, this definitely stops the axle from spinning, even if 1 side is installed.

    E-bike necessity
Don’t know what I would have done without the washer that comes with this torque arm; it was a project saver! Super easy to install and makes me feel much safer. This is an inexpensive upgrade that every e-bike builder should purchase.

Just buy them. You won’t regret it.
I never needed these until recently. I never knew how much I did need them till it was to late. Won’t catch me without them ever again. Wise investment.

Inexpensive but unsuitable for our needs. Metal proved too soft for higher powered bikes (750w+).
Unfortunately, you do get what you pay for and we went for this is a cheap alternative to much more expensive torque arm kits offered on Amazon. This review is offered with the intention of helping you avoid the mistake we made. While this inexpensive kit may be adequate for some bikes, we found the material to be too soft causing it to fail quickly. The bike in question is a Qlife Racer Electric Bike purchased on Amazon. Low-priced bike purchased as an entry-level bike for a casual rider. Lots of fun but, after about one month of riding we found that the 750w motor generated sufficient torque to have spread and rounded out the rear fork dropouts allowing the axle to spin, which causes the drive system to stop working. We’ve since learned that this is a common problem on many bikes with cheaper frames. (Again, you generally do get what you pay for: cheap bike => cheap frame quality.) This torque arm kit was well-packaged, shipped quickly and proved easy to install. No directions were included but it’s pretty straightforward and there’s lots of helpful videos on YouTube (just search on “e-bike torque arm”). However, this kit only lasted about 5 hours before it also allowed the axle to spin and round out the the hole. We’ve ordering a stronger (more expensive) kit with a hardened steel axle insert (Grin Technologies V5 Universal Ebike Torque Arm) and will post a review once we see how this works out.
