Poorly machined, inaccurate
Great if you are not looking for accuracy. The two edges do not align. This leads to a difference of about 1/16 from side to side.

Accurate measurements especially on repeat cuts
This measuring tool has a home where repeat cuts are necessary or where multiple parts need to be compared for dimensions. The device is compact and made of heavy plate aluminum with very clear markings in both US and metricated. Using a pencil you would leave the cut line to obtain correct dimensions (cut up to the line). After using this for marking and cutting aluminum parts I found it easy to use and would make an excellent gift for hobbyists that work in fine dimensions or general woodworking. The device has one drawback in that the magnet intended to prevent loss can actually stick to metal unintentionally and it is a bear to locate. Overall nice product.
