Great helper item for carpenters square
Well made and durable, these are a great addition to a standard carpenters square tool. You can move these to any position on the square to set rise and run for building stair stringers. There are some other uses for these helpers but that is the main purpose of these (at least to the best of my knowledge). They make building stair stringers much faster. This is not something I do often but have done in the past and I can tell you these are very helpful for accuracy and speed.

Accurate, Impeccable Craftsmanship/CNC, Awesome Value. Will Score/Dent your Rafter/Square.
I ordered these to cut a set of stringers for stairs using my Milwaukee Rafter Square, which is also Red with White Markings, these almost look like they were custom designed for it.The number one feature you’re looking for in these is accuracy and these are very accurate, you’ll have to take my word for it, i tested them with my calipers and came very close to perfect. For $13 they also included a carabiner to hold them in place with your other scribing tools whatever you’re going to hold your angles and repeat them with precision. The one thing i didn’t like is that these scored/dented/scratched my speed square the first use, they could have used a wider surface/pad instead of a pointy screw to fix it to the ruler/square so it’ll damage it, at least aesthetically, sure it’s a tool and it’ll get dinged scratched by other means anyway, but that’s not the point, i’ve seen other gauges that come with a “gentler” solution to this.Overall i’m happy with it, i considered subtracting a star due to the pointy screw design, but it’s inexpensive, well built and accurate, it’ll do well!

Rinse And Repeat
I do a bit of light carpentry around the house. I wouldn’t call myself a Master but I dabble. I love these things as they allow me to make repeatable cuts using my speed square. If you use a speed square and are doing anything that requires redundancy, you need these. I have a cheap set and these are miles above those in design and construction. The fact that they thought to include a piece of metal shaped so that you can attach both of these together and then have that attach to an included carabiner is simply genius. Plus they supply an additional thumb screw in case you happen to lose or destroy one. All very nice touches.

Good, high-vis commodity product. Some nice additions: spare screw, great storage/carrying option.
These seem not much different from stair gauges I have used in the past, although in anodized RED aluminum, they are much higher visibility than the black ones I used to have. The main improvement is in the storage/carrying mechanism. With the binding / holding “bar” and the carabiner, I will be able to hang these on my pegboard right next to my framing square and not have to wonder in which “assorted parts” drawer I have stored them! 😉 It is pretty ideal when you can store related tools together even though their form factor differs dramatically. It’s nice that an extra clamping screw was provided, but storage for *it* was unfortunately not contemplated. There should ideally be a threaded hole on a slightly longer carrying “bar” so that it doesn’t get lost.I am now contemplating tapping a hole in the bottom of one of the gauges. The manufacturer should really tap the bottom of ALL gauges they sell and include two clamping screws with each gauge they sell. This would be a great option for a future product update.Side note: the box in which these arrived was one of the tightest closure cardboard boxes I have ever come across. Also, be aware that there are no usage instructions provided, however, there are TONS of available usage descriptions online for those who have never used this type of setup for layout (or other things you can achieve with these).

High quality
these live in my tool bag and are awesome when you need them. I’m always finding clever uses including attaching them to my circular saw. They’re metal, so unless you lose them, they should last forever.

Very nice!
When I lost my tool box out of the back of my truck, I lost a lot of tools that I could not even account for. Over time, I reach for a tool and realize it was in the box. I was happy to find these stair “nuggets” (as I call them) and quickly ordered them. The are actually nicer than the ones I lost. The set comes with a little piece of metal that both gauges can clamp to, thus keeping the pair together. This is very clever, since I was constantly searching for both nuggets when they were not joined together. Also included is a carabiner so you can hang these from your belt and keep them handily available. That is not something I see as very practical for me since cutting stair stringers is not something that I do so often that I need to carry gauges around with me everywhere I go. Regardless, someone might fight the feature useable. At least I give the company credit for trying to include some unique niceties to market the product. I still give five stars!

Nice, Simple and Accurate
These stair guides are nice looking and come with a clever storage piece so these dont get lost. More importantly though is accuracy and function.I checked the different important dimensions to make sure they are accurate. They were correct to a thousandth of an inch from where it indexes off the square. The full width was the same on both, and the best i can find is an inaccuracy here as they’re seemingly meant to be at 3/4″ but was a couple hundredths undersized- more importantly though, exactly the same between the two. It would make it easier to set up if they were perfectly .75″ and 3/8″ offset could be used when the markings on the square are obsured. Thats the only thing I can manage for negatives, they’re a good little accessory.

Good Quality + Handy Storage
As far as stair gauges go, these seem to be of good quality. I really like that they have a simple holder and carabiner that keeps them together and makes storage easy. The holder is also great for keeping these handy on your tool belt or tool belt suspenders.I can’t complain about the design as it is typical for what they are but I would love to see these with a non-marring tip on the screw end.
