    E-bike rack.
A very sturdy rack for my Kingbull Hunter which weighs in around 70 lbs and has 26 inch by 4 inch tires. I like the inclusion of protective velcro pads for the area clamping down on the frame. The “anti sway” hardware makes the rack quite sturdy in the 2″ reciever. At this point I can still lift my bike onto the carrier. At some point in the future I may wish I had one with a ramp. Now I do remove the battery which lightens the load by about 8 lbs.You do need to assemble this rack so plan on about 30 to 45 minutes. I found that clamping the male part of reciever into a vise on my work bench allowed me to work at “chest” height while doing assembly. Directions were clear with nice pictures “numbering” parts and clear direction what went where and in what order. Since my wife doesn’t have an e-bike, I have only installed one set of the tire mounts. To me this is an advantage … being able to remove or add them easily. They simply slide on and off the horizontal bar and tighten with knobbed screws.Overall very satisfied.

easy to assemble and sturdy but hitch lock and pin to short
easy to assemble and sturdy however lock and hitch pin was to short for my subaru outback hitch like 1/4 inch to short.

Sturdy. But hitch lock not long enough for standard hitch
Nice sturdy rack, however hitch lock does not fit a standard hitch. We have a 2024 Toyota Tacoma std hitch and the hitch lock does not go all the way through to allow the thing to latch and lock. Also the locking mechanism/key is cheap and the key doesn’t turn easily. We’ll have to purchase a longer sturdier hitch lock as we have no way to secure the hitch to the vehicle. As for ease of assembly, the pictures are not great. Maybe the video is better?

    Sturdy bike rack
This rack accommodated our two e-bikes during a 100 plus mile road trip. No issues. The straps it comes with kept our bikes safely secure and the locking pins stayed in place. Even though it folds up when not in use, we decided to remove it and store it away until the next use. Easily is removable and placed on the car hitch. Assembly was also pretty easy as well.

Bad fabrication and quality control, cannot assemble
I ordered this item for an upcoming trip because it was available quickly. It looked like someone tried to assemble it before, and returned it. Sure enough, I tried to assemble it and it became clear that it could not be assembled. Two sheet metal pieces were grossly (1/4in) misaligned from the factory, causing holes to not be aligned which prevents successful assembly.I was hoping to be able to contact the manufacturer (the manual says literally “For claims please contact us on Amazon”) but the Amazon support option is only a chatbot that requires a full return, very inconvenient! No way to contact the manufacturer, I’d have worked with them if I could contact themAlso, the hardware (bolts etc.) is all galvanized steel, it’s going to rust fast. Stainless steel would have been very welcome.I cannot recommend this item, any sort of QC at the factory would have uncovered the alignment issue.

    Good value
As mentioned by other reviews the instructions are a little vague, if you have IKEA experience and take your time it actually not all that bad. Tip- When you install a bolt/nut and pin/ cotter dual holes, it is best to install the pin / cotter first then the bolt / nut. The alignment is easier. The anti-sway insert seems to do a good job at stablizing the entire carrier. For a road test we loaded a Mt. Bike onto the carrier on the truck, my wife drove the truck and I followed close behind and observed. It took the bumps well, the most movement was on sharp turns. We have not taken it on any long trips yet.The fold up mechanism is not all that smooth, but adequate. So far it seems like a good purchase at a price point well below some of the more known brand names.

I received the PAULINN Bike Crossbar Adapter through the Amazon Prime program. My trailer hitch bike racks secure bicycles by pressing down on the bikes’ crossbar. This means, if our van is full of luggage, I will be unable to take my folding bike or ebike. Neither of these bikes have crossbars.I prefer to take a compact bicycle when traveling because they compactly fit in the hotel room, and don’t raise the eyebrows of the hotel staff. The PAULINN Bike Crossbar Adapter gives me a temporary crossbar. Really quite an amazing idea! The crossbar is very well-designed and constructed. It feels solid. It weighs in at just over 1 KG.The front and rear connectors easily and quickly engage and disengage. The crossbar can easily and quickly be put on or taken off the bicycle. It expands in length more than enough to fit any bike. This temporary crossbar solves a problem for sure.I am so excited I can take my ebike or folding bike with me on our next family road trip!

As much as I do love this, I wish the back wasn’t a pin. Wish it held onto the bike post. I would love to use something like this to put my kid onto it but this is mainly for holding the bike down for trailer hitches which I am able to use thankfully. And now when I do buy my new e-bike, I can finally buy a step-through one and don’t need to worry about my hitch rack not being able to hold my bike down. The back part will drop until it has a surface to support it from falling more. Has a spring to easily install thankfully

one of our e-bikes that has a non-conventional frame so in order to make it easier to hang on the bike rack when travelling, i bought a crossbar adapter off a private seller in the second hand market. that one has served me a couple of years but since it was pre-owned, it had lots more wear and tear than the two years i owned it and it is now coming apart so time for a new one. i saw this on amazon and ordered right away. this is from a different manufacturer, PAULINN, whereas the older one was from SARIS. The older one was definitely a better quality product, and you can tell just from the looks and feel. this is one is a tier below, but the design actually works better for my situation. whereas the older one had clamps that open on a horizontal plane, this has one end designed with an open u-shaped arms and you slide a metal pin through. it just works better for how the e-bike is designed. and the spring tension holding the inner and outer tubes is a feature not found in the older one i had. so despite being a lower tier to my previous adapter, i rate this a full five stars because it works better.
