This chuck kit is a good investment for lathe work.

Nova 3000. 1.25 head thread
wow. easy to setup. I’ve only used the small jaws, but hold a 24 inch rod and turning the end..it worked great. tomorrow will be a bowl testthe jaw number is super simple.. unlike earlier versions

Best lathe chuck
If youâre looking to invest time and money into woodturning this is the lathe chuck to get.

design flaw with small jaws held on by one weak screw.
I installed the small jaws that come with the chuck. The small jaws are only held on with one screw for each jaw. I was working on a .75″ dia spindle at 1100 RPM and I had a catch. The catch was not too bad however while spinning the jaw broke off (see picture ) and shot up and hit my mask, then bounced off and cut my hand. You can see from the picture that the screw snapped off at a week point(bottom of the torque driver hole). This is a design flaw because the small jaws are only held on with one weak screw. The two other jaw sets that come with the chuck use two screws per jaw(this is a much better design).

Nice kit. Have used it for 6 months and I am impressed with quality and easy of use. Good starter set with three jaws sizes. Quick responses to my first timer questions on setup.
