   Good value, high quality
   I got this so I wouldn’t need to swap jaws out in my SuperNova chuck so often (sometimes it’s more efficient to swap chucks!). I was a little worried the G3 might be too light for my purposes — I’m used to my SuperNova, which is a sturdy beast of a thing — but it’s great!Smaller and lighter, yes. Also it lacks a back plate: the gears are exposed, which means I’ll need to clean the works out now and then. But it’s a very solid chuck nonetheless with more than enough mass, stability, and strength for the small-bowl project I bought it for.As others have pointed out, you need a separate insert to mount this version of the G3 ProTek on your lathe, so be sure to include that cost when doing price comparisons with other chucks. Even including the insert cost, though, I think this chuck is an excellent value!

   Excellent chuck for wood turning
   This Nova chuck (by Teknitool) is a great chuck for the monies spent. It needs a threaded insert to fit your particular lathe. Mine has a 1”x8tpi and I had an insert already so made getting it on the lathe very easy. I like the 4 jaw setup and the supplied jaws fit perfectly. It came with the chuck key, 8 jaw screws, 4 jaws, a jaw screw wrench plus a nice rag/towel to keep it clean. Well worth the monies paid.

   Great chuck, you will also need the insert.
   I found nothing specific about spindle threads mentioned in the specs, however, in the Q&A section a buyer asked what spindle thread this chuck fits. The answer given was 1-1/4″ x 8 TPI, which is exactly what I needed and led me to believe I could install it upon arrival. This chuck is the insert type but does not include any inserts. Without the proper insert, you will not be able to thread this onto your lathe spindle. I did find the correct insert on Amazon for an additional $33+. Just want everyone to be aware of this!

   Solid construction, works well
   I use this wood lathe chuck almost daily for holding bowls and vases. It’s easy to mount and unmount from the lathe and it holds the work pieces very well. I only use the set of jaws that came with it and haven’t felt the need for anything more.
