This may be my favorite tool for woodworking
This is the perfect size for a quick check of squareness – parts, blades, bits – whatever, and the pencil holes at 1/16″ increments make it easy to lay out fastener locations and cut lines with unimaginable precision. The offset base makes it easy to find centerlines in common wood thicknesses. Slip it under a measuring tape to mark square cut lines for longer cuts. Larger squares might be better for larger parts, but they won’t be as readily available as having this already tucked in your pocket. The markings are sharp, precise, and highly readable in varying lighting conditions. I use it with a carbide scribe to lay out metal work. When you’re making things, nothing beats the satisfaction of having all your parts fit together PERFECTLY because they were laid out with basic tools that take the work out of reaching near-machinist levels of precision at a very affordable price.

Nice set for the money
These squares have a number of nice features that make them especially handy at the bench – although I haven’t yet explored all of them. It also includes a mechanical pencil and leads to use with it, which is a nice touch. They appear very well-made and the protective case means they will remain in good shape for years (assuming I have the discipline to return them to the case at the end of each day…). I got them in stainless steel, thinking they would be more reliably flat and precise than the aluminum version. The closest set to this I’ve seen elsewhere comes from Woodpeckers, and while it may be superior in some ways (accuracy?), it is also far more expensive. Nothing else I could find comes close. I cannot independently verify the accuracy of these squares, of course, but as far as I can tell they’re spot-on and consistent with other high-quality measuring tools in my shop.

These are my favorite measuring devices now
I do armature wood working. I have a regular speed square but it’s really just for rough work; these are much more precise. I like being able to get an exact measurement from the edge of a piece every time, and strike a perfectly 90 degree line.I chose these bench squares over the layout squares because these allow you to transfer a co-planar mark from the face onto the side of a board, which I find myself needing to do frequently. I also like that the 3/8″ shoulder allows me to easily find the center of a 3/4″ board. Having the lateral measurements along the bottom cutout are also handy and often prevents me from having to switch to a different measuring tool. There are times with having more than 7″ of span would be nice, like you would get with the layout squares, but it’s rare that I need that and I have other rulers I can switch to when it comes up. I thought the larger 7″ square would be the one I would use the most, but now that I’ve had them for a few months I find myself grabbing the smaller 4″ one most often. Turns out most fine measurements are under 4 inches.

Pay attention to the size, this is a small square!
Small, compact, great to have handy at my workbench. Comes with a case that I’ll not use, I’ll hang it on hook above my workbench or have it in my work apron. The case would be useful if you were going to have the square in a tool bag or transported often. Nice markings, easy to read, fits in a pocket on my work apron.

a one star for delivery and shipping time
in “General” good for the money, a -1000 and minus 20 stars for shipping times almost 3 weeks! to be delivered less than 30 miles away.now about Product, now have to say for the Money hard to beat, as a Machinist for 40+ years, i see allot of other Companies and Woodworkers “PRETENDING TO BE MACHINIST”!!and buying some woody woodpecker stuff that cant even hold a Candle to Fowler,Sttarret and the Big guns of Machine “WORLD” and try and charge you guys double! for what its Never worth!now this Igaging, is Pretty good! in woodworking your dealing with “Organic Material” that can change in seconds! its not METAL! so the .002 tolerances are something 99.999999999999% will never notice!and by the edge of a Marking Knife at 4 feet was only off couple thou, thats less than a .05 pencil lead at 15 feet.so for anyone looking for some reliable marking for “Woodworking” its worth it,now keep in mind! this is not a “Carpenters Square” a roofing or rough lumber Carpenter Use! it will be Ruined if used that way! its Thinner Aluminum, yes Aluminum! NOT ALYMINIUIMIUM! come my Brit brit brohers! get it right! you can say it!!and has many features most wood workers will like for Layout and Marking that the woody woodpeckers do not have, and did you know? they have there stuff outsourced! they dont even make it! why it costs so much!! so dont put money in there pockets! let them earn it!and get the Igaging Products, there “EXACTLY” the same, costs LESS than HALF! and in this day and age?everyone needs a Break not put some cash in some fat cat Greedy bank account.and you get 2 for the LESS than the Price of ONE wood “Pecker” hard to beat!now i had to give it a one star for the shipping and was NOT IGaging’s Fault!! was a tooltime place that decided was just going to ship it a “Tool Anytime” it wanted when they got off the couch.i think they were had picking the Alloy Granules for each Square? loli do not know the reasons why took so long? they “Said” was in Stock? so? someone dropped the Ball?so if do not mind the 3 week wait? no prob, if do not wanna wait 3 weeks! Avoid the “California” based companies at moment, that Amazon has as there sellers etc.other than that! great Product, very useful and very easy and Intuitive !!!

Nice squares
The squares are nice and well made. -1 star for the poor quality control sending the box out without the pencil and lead. Doesnât affect the squares, but every time I open the case with the empty cutouts, Iâll be reminded of the poor quality control.

I tend to use my empire square for most things. It gets a lot of abuse but it’s not very accurate.Picked these up for more accurate markings when needed. My set seems to very square and accurate. Easy to use. Good protective case.

I really like these squares. they have some weight to them and based on other shares in my workshop they are accurate.

This is an accurate little square that can do everything a well-designed small layout square can do, plus the base measures in 1/4â, 3/8â, 1/2â and 3/4â increments – an integrated set-up block! Very well designed and useful! Great value!
