Very helpful tool!
It worked great but started giving out at about 200 square feet. Also, the fact that it places two sides of the bracket makes it difficult to use when only needing it for one side of the bracket, like at the fascia.

Helpful, but not wife proof
This device is comfortable and easy to use. I know it will help us tremendously once we get the second one.My advice is just do not let your wife use it. She was overly eager to help get the deck in and got trigger happy. The bit got wedged in the screw hole and we accidentally snapped off the screw guide.

Make your project go faster!
If you have a deck project, especially a Trex project, there comes a time when you are just focused for about two hours on laying deck boards. It’s near the end of the project and you just need a tool to get your fastener in place. This one did the job at a discounted price from the original tool. It was easy to use and fit well in my hand, with or without gloves.

slowed me down because of the flashing tape on the joists
I ended up having to return this. The biggest problem with my experience using this product is that it kept marring the flashing tape that was on top of the joists. I screwed in the hidden fastener, then when trying to remove this product so I could move to the next joist, the product ripped the flashing tape. I had to partially back the screw out before removing this product from the joist. This defeated the entire reason for using this product. It actually slowed me down vs. making the job easier.

Get It
This tool makes installation of Trex hidden deck fasteners so much easier. Sure, you can used a piece of scrap to accomplish the same thing, but this tool helps with leverage to coerce warped boards and holds the fastener even. Reviews of the item breaking only happens when not following the recommended installation instructions of the fasteners from Trex and tightening the fastener immediately upon installation instead of after the next board is applied. After spending thousands of dollars on decking and fasteners, why not spend another $20 to make the installation so much easier.
