This is the second time buying this
I bought one of these a while back and it has been performing very well. It did need a little touch up on the cutting edge, but that is to be expected since people use different set ups. I use this in a BXA 250-207 holder so the angle it pretty close to what I need. When set up right this blade cuts through steel like butter. I have used it on Aluminum, Mild Steel, 12L14, and a couple types of Stainless.I am buying a new one because I made a mistake while parting. I was using tail support on a part with a large hang out (planning on removing when I got close to finished) and screwed up when I went to remove the tail support resulting in a broken blade. I was able to fix the blade (which is shorter now) by grinding it again but I wanted to have the full length.

Works very well
This is easily the best cut off tool I’ve used. It was easy to get straight in the holder so the clearance angles worked perfectly. The chips didn’t jam up at all. I used a start stop technique to break the chips and it cut mild steel like butter with the resulting surface looking nearly faced off. Good enough for many projects.

Top quality material and product arrived in perfect condition
This does work well enough but I can’t say it was the smoothest parting tool ever. I do prefer this hss blade style parting setup. Stays sharp a while longer than some others with good cobalt % for the average hobbyists or smaller machines.

Definitely worth the money!
I am new to machining and this is my first use of a parting tool. I was warned to wait until I “got my feet wet” before attempting parting. Plus, I was told to “stay away from the cheap tools until you break a few high dollar ones”.Well, I got my feet wet, but jumped into the lower cost unit right off. I am VERY HAPPY with the decision. Like anything else, setup is the key to parting. BUT…if you set up correctly, and watch your feed/speed, this tool is AWESOME! Immediately, it looked like I knew what I was doing. No chatter, and the tool did not try to walk up or down the material.I should shay that I use a Precision Matthews, 1440BV lathe, which I also love.Definitely worth the money!

It’s great when you sharpen it!
if you have anything heavier than a 7×16/8×14, then it’ll work, but it will absolutely not cut anything with a small machine. i’m trying to part aluminium and copper but no matter the feed, speed, sharpness, upside down cutting, and normal cutting, it will not part anything.EDIT: came back after modifying the cutting edge geometry and it cuts everything, even steel on my mini lathe. it seems the cutting edge out the box is very very dull and puts a lot of strain on the spindle. i’ve modified my cutting edge to be aggressive and razor sharp, cuts like a champ.

Game changer
I was sick of dealing with the cheap insert parting tool giving me issues. This cobalt HSS cutter works awesome on both mild steel and aluminum. A little love on the leading edge to clean up burrs produced a clean cut in no time. Highly recommended cutter for anyone with a lathe!

Soft, not good for steel…
Edge rolled when trying to part a small .2″ dia 41L40 part. Speeds were proper and feed was by hand due to possible part deflection. Edge rolled almost immediately. Have not tried to sharpen or grind any new Edge on it yet and that may adjust my review. Have not tired it on aluminum or softer metals and it may work fantastic for that.

Cut off blade for the lathe
This works very well for cutout tool on the lathe. Iâm still using it today. Very nice.

Being of small demention I have to hold it to work as close as possible and cuts very well. I’m just a hobby guy and very satisfied with it.

Es necesario tener el portaherramientas adecuado pero viene prácticamente lista para usar. Muy buen material, muy buen corte (buen acabado y buen avance)

It works good. Had to sharpen and hone it to get the best cut. All good now.
