Got this for my husband he was really disappointed with the Contour Gauge Unlimited Connection Profile Tool. The quality feels cheap, and the gauge doesn’t lock securely in place, making it difficult to get accurate measurements. It also bend easily, which defeats the purpose of a precise tracing tool. Not worth the price at all, especially for anyone looking for a reliable tool for woodworking or welding projects.

It will get you close but not exact.
It’s nice that they give you extra fingers in case any break, and that you could add-on additional units for longer traces. This would be fine for rough cuts that get you in the ballpark, but it’s not exactly accurate, especially around round objects where the fingers near the edge tend to spread to the side rather than pushing back to get the correct contour. The fingers are also pretty tight which is probably good for holding the measurement, but lends to the issue I had getting an accurate outline on my test of round objects. After getting a trace on my test round object, you can see in the picture that the round object will not drop in to the trace and sits on top due to the issue I mentioned with the fingers spreading open instead of pushing back.

Almost Perfect
Handy, expandable, sturdy, good accuracy, and locks well. When used in the expanded configuration there is a gap between the two pieces which is not visible in the stock pictures which is disappointing but not a functional failure. Price point is very good.
