These noise-cancelling earmuffs work great! My husband wears them whenever he is using noisy equipment. However, he said that in the workshop, around power tools, he sometimes needs to hear a little bit of what is happening with wood cutting, so in those instances, he wears a pair with lesser blocking.

I work for a company that picks up trash in York county pa. I do residential and commercial pickup. We pick up thousands of residential customers a week. In my travels I kept seeing people wearing these things working in their yards..washing their cars,working in their gardens,taking care of their lawns….even a few joggers and people walking their dogs. So..I started looking at radio head phone/hearing protection to use when I’m doing lawn work at my home. I cut an acre and a half every week. I’ve been. useing a pair of plain Jane ear muffs forever..I figured it was time for a change/upgrade… I bought my last pair of plain Jane’s from a big box store…they were cheep,and not very comfortable to wear for two or so hours at a time…but tolerable,and they did keep the noise down. Shopping around… I saw prices ranged from$20 to well over$200… I bought these after reading reviews….MANY…. reviews,and seeing so many of them on the street. I found these to be very reasonably priced. They came quickly…were packaged very well..in New condition..and in original factory packaging. Unpacking was easy,and straight forward…just open the package. The little piece of folded paper in the package are the directions…READ THE DIRECTIONS!… read over the dialect your familiar with,there are a few choices…I’m sure there is one that can get most people through the set up of these headphones…read it a few times BECAUSE…. I did notice in some of the reviews…quite a few folks were complaining about getting the preset function set up..READ the directions… I took the screw loose on the battery compartment cover and installed two AA batteries…pretty straight forward. I found two stations that I listen to during the day at work…one is in Harrisburg..the other in York. Keep in mind that I’m setting the presets inside of my house…not outside…I’m sure reception will be even better outside.. Setting the presets is very easy..READ THE DIRECTIONS! The York station is about 12 air miles from the couch in my house…reception is very clear with no background/white noise..the Harrisburg station is roughly 50 air miles from the couch in my house…there is also a station on the same frequency in Baltimore city…also about 50 air miles south of the couch in my house…there’s no bleed over from the Baltimore station…but there is a very small amount of background/white noise..very subtle…very tolerable…especially from a station 50 miles away. As far as the FM reception..over all…Very satisfied with the FM reception.As far as the AM I am receiving zero stations on the AM side. Again….realize I am sitting on my couch…inside my house..in a very difficult area not conducive to receive AM radio frequencies.I have no issues with this…I was not expecting to be able to receive AM considering the area my couch is located. As for the volume… I do remember reading some of the reviews that said there WERE some complaints about not enough volume… I don’t need blood leaking from my ears type of volume levels… The volume…on this particular set of headphones…. is more than enough for my ears…especially considering the amount of there noise cancelling ability. Comfort is very good..the head band fits well, and is comfortable..the ear pads are soft and conform very well around my particular glasses and ears…very comfortable. They also apparently have excellent wife cancelling capabilities…I could tell by the very angry look on my beautiful wife’s face just a few minutes ago… As of right now…with what I have experienced handling and setting up these headphones from my couch…I’m VERY happy with my purchase… I’m sure they will serve well for many years if I do my part taking care of them.

Would definitely recommend
Purchased these headphones last May set up my stations and used them while running my tractor. They quiet down the noise level quite well. Also used them with my chainsaw and hedge trimmer, noise level also quieted down nicely .I like that the volume level does not cancel all out side sounds which would make it dangerous running heavy equipment. Setting up the presets took a little time to figure out. The only downside is when you change batteries all your presets are deleted. All in all I would definitely recommend this item to anyone in the market for one

Radio station keeps changing
I had a non digital pair for 8 years that finally stopped working so I bought these. I hate them. Radio reception gets fuzzy in some areas of my property and these immediately change the channel to one without any reception. If I could set them to stay on my station I’d be happy, but they keep changing it. They also loosen as I work so I have to keep tightening them or they fall off.

Antes, si querÃÂa escuchar música en el taller, tenÃÂa que hacerlo entra la operación de cualquier máquina: me tenÃÂa que quitar los audÃÂfonos (con la música) y poner los audÃÂfonos de protección mientras trabajaba con la sierra de mesa, por ejemplo. Con estos audÃÂfonos DeWalt ya no necesito tales interrupciones.Son cómodos y altamente recomendables.

i bought this item to enjoy the radio when I am snowshoeing around my property and to use on my tractor for noise suppression when snowplowing, cutting grass or any other project that involves loud machinery. in winter I wear them over a heavy toque ,they fit very well and are comfortable, all the while keeping my ears warm. in summer I wear them over a very thin toque to keep sweat from getting into the ear cups .they fit very well over a baseball cap as well. this is important to me as I am bald and look sorta strange with a sunburned head with a one and a half inch bright white strip across it from the band.I like the controls as there is only one protruding knob [ off/on,vol, ] that can be easily adjusted with gloves or mitts without disturbing the others. my old ones had two knobs and I would always end up moving the tuner while trying to adjust the volume. you also had to remember which was which, and half the time I ended up moving the wrong one. on this new DeWALT after the first setup you only have one control to adjust each time, all the others stay perfectly set. my old set would fade in and out as I moved around my property but this set does not. I like the built in max volume control, some how while running the tractor I can hear the radio clearly but can also hear other noises around me, like a stone going through my snow blower or any strange noises coming from the tractor.it does this as well as effectively dampening the roar of the engine and howl of the snow blower. I don’t know how they do this but I love it. I am very happy with this DeWALT DPG15 hearing protector, it works very well in my location and for what I usefor. highly recommended.
