Straightener should work
I purchased my deck boards from a large box store which are known for warped boards, but they are cheaper than a specialty lumber store. Afterall, the deck is for me and not a customer! Therefore I was excited to see this deck board straightening tool that would help to compensate for my cheapness. The instructions to put the tool together were good enough for a decent DIYer. I thought it odd that the tool requires two different size Allen wrenches to put it together. While the wrenches are included, there’s only two screws needing tightened with a wrench, so I feel that with a little better engineering they could have used the same size wrench. The metal itself is thick and seems very strong. Unfortunately I have not been able to test this straightening tool because it has a manufacturing defect that does not allow one of the screws to go through its hole. Once I find my rat tail file I’ll try to shave the metal down so the screw will go into the hole. With that said, I do like the quality of the tool and after looking at it I truly think it will work and work well once I’m able to put it together completely.
