Convenient but Costly
What you get with this set is three pieces of plastic that are about one inch by four inches and about 3/4 of an inch wide. Each piece has a rabbet around all four sides on face. The depth of each rabbet is a common setback for door and window trim.These are very convenient gauges. In the past I have used a carpenter’s square set to the proper depth. These gauges provide a much larger surface for checking positioning. I very much like them.Now that I have them, I gotta wonder why I didn’t just make a similar (and probably bigger) set out of hardwood. That wouldn’t have been too tough to do. Making your own will save you over twenty bucks.You also get two pencils.
