Installed this on a one-piece crank with a 73mm bottom bracket shell.
After doing quite a bit of research on the internet, I decided to order this Bafang mid drive motor kit from Greenergia. What I did not realize at the time was that I was going to be charged $100 for shipping on top of the $647 price tag. Not a big deal because I know that shipping is expensive but you get used to free shipping on Amazon so it took me by surprise a bit.One On the next day, Greenergia had sent me an e-mail message asking me to confirm the voltage type, the size (68-73mm) and the chain ring size (46t). To me this was a good sign that they were really being careful to get me the correct set according to what I had ordered. After I immediately replied with the information, they shipped the package 2 days later by Fedex and it took 8 days for Fedex to deliver the package.Everything I ordered was in the box. The box was thick double walled cardboard and there was a foam organizer as you can see in the photos. I opted to get a battery from a different source because I wanted a rear mounted one but heard bad reviews about this companies flimsy back luggage rack, as well as not finding a way to mount their luggage rack onto my particular bike. The last photo shows the motor installed in my old Huffy bicycle (photo taken with the bike upside down). I did find it odd that the motor did not say anywhere on it that it was a BBSHD 1000 watt motor. By looking at the numbers on it, I’m pretty sure that it was a 1000 watt motor though. I just wish the exact model number was clearly printed on the motor itself. One final note, my Huffy bicycle had a one-piece crank and a 73mm bottom bracket shell, meaning that I had to use an adapter to get this motor to fit. I ordered the Truvativ American-to-Euro BMX Adapter. I did eventually get this adapter to work but it took a lot of grinding and it was not the adapter’s fault.Regardless of the adapter you use, you will have to do some grinding on it to make any one-piece crank system fit any Bafang mid drive kit. Taken as is, you’ll find that you cannot slide this adapter all the way down onto the main drive spindle of the motor because the flange on the adapter will stop it about 3/4 of the way down. The flange needs to be ground off on one side in order to make it work – not something that your average hobbyist may have the tools for. The adapter is aluminum and grids easily. My bicycle has a 73mm bottom shell and the motor I ordered was measured for a 68-73mm bottom shell as well. And yes, this motor does fit a 73mm shell. However, the motor did cause my chain ring to stick out a bit further than it should have been, causing my chain to derail off of the main chain ring if the bike was in first gear. The usual fix is to order something like the Luna Eclipse chain ring that has a really deep offset. However, I found a way to trim about 1/4″ off of my bottom bracket shell using a dremel tool with a few cutting disks. You can see by my final photo that this idea worked out the best.Anyway, I’m very happy that everything works and I’ve taken the bike out for a couple of rides so far. I also had not had to deal with any defects or problems so far but will try to update this review if any issues should arise.

Awesome motor, but Issues after only three months
This is probably the highest and best middle drive for an E bike out there. It is fast more or less easy to install the hardest part was understanding that the Left side paddle lock nut has reverse threads, So getting it off was quite time consuming. The only issues I have with this is that because this has so much torque it is moving slightly on my bike and is wearing off part of the aluminum frame where it is mounted. I wish there was something that could be done to stop that. Also, having gone down from a 52 V eight amp hour battery to a 48 V 13 amp hour battery the computer and display screen thing has settings to alternate voltage I have set the settings for the voltage back down to 48 V but the system seems to think it’s still at 52 which drains my battery more than it should. I have reset it multiple times and even forced shut down the system but I cannot seem to get it to realize that it is 48 V I hope that this can be resolved soon. The computer I chose to get was the 500c display.
