Counter sink
Purchased a while ago, just put it into use. Had been using a regular counter sink bit for routine work. Was doing work that needed more precession and repeatability. This bit met those requirements. Easy to adjust and use.

Great countersink!
I love the tapered drill bit and the ease of use for setting up the stop. Having used this extensively on a cabinet job, one thing that surprised me was that maintenance is required on these. I started getting swirl marks on my pieces from the stop not freely spinning anymore. I removed the lock ring and took it apart and it was completely clogged up with sawdust. After cleaning and lubing the bearing with silicone lube, it worked great again. I imagine this maintenance will have to be completed regularly which is fine in my book because it functions so well.

Set screw doesn’t stop drill bit from spinning free
At first i thought it was brilliant, but the set screw is a joke – the tapered drill shank doesn’t have a groove or anything to allow the set screw to advance enough to firmly stop it from spinning free of the countersinking enclosure! Tried tightening it as much as possible but the set screw with the provided allen key well before tightening its grip on the drill bit enough to secure it. To solve, i had to take an angle grinder to the bit and flatten it, effectively making a “D” shape if you were to look at the bit from the bottom up (wherein before it was an “O” shape). Then the set screw (stripped at this point for me) could really stop it from spinning free and so far it’s been back to working great.For the price of this thing Amana could have machined the drill bits into this shape on their end

Best I Have Ever Used
I’m a professional cabinetmaker. I use a countersink primarily in plywood when I assemble cabinets. Even though it looks rather clunky, this countersink works extremely well. It is wicked sharp and the adjustable depth stop produces consistent results. Initially, I was reluctant to buy it because of the price, but now that I have used it for a while, I have no regrets. It was worth every penny.

Broken, chipped, used, no wrench
Mine came “broken in” for me. I opened the plastic container and some saw dust fell out. There was wood still on the countersink. Also, the drill bit was broken off. Not to mention, the carbide was chipped on both blades.I guess I’m not using it for the project. Also didn’t have the wrench… won’t buy again!WR

The carbide bits are not sturdy at all. But the depth gauge is awesome. Replacement bits of the same brand are way to expensive for the non durability

Bought this Amana with the tapered but, worked fantastic until the unit fell off the table and broke the bit… Trying to find a replacement bit is next to impossible.
