Squares off against the competition
Very well made and it’s dead square. The best part, it’s Giants orange instead of Dodger blue, like some other ones.

Extremely rugged and easily seen square
I build decks for a living and love this square! It is metal, thus considerably heavier than a plastic square, but a jobsite is a demanding place. Plastic squares can be broken in a million ways. (And I have experienced most of those ways first hand). I am absolutely ok with trading off “light weight” for “nearly indestructable”. I’m sure I will use this square on an “every weekday” basis for many years to come….. if God allows me to live for many more years anyway.P.S. It would also serve well as sort of a construction worker’s ninja throwing star. If jobsite bandits show up, this could easily be buried into their face! Hey…. it could happen! Lol

Replaced 3 Tools
I’ve been doing weekend woodworking projects for about 8 years, mostly furniture and built-ins, and this square has become one of my most-used tools over the past few months. Finally replaced my old steel combination square that was getting rusty and hard to read.Build Quality & Durability: The aluminum construction feels substantial and well-made. At 12x12x17 inches, it’s the perfect size for most of my projects – large enough for accurate measurements on bigger pieces but not so big it’s unwieldy. The powder coating gives it a nice finish that resists scratches and fingerprints. After months of workshop use, it still looks practically new.Readability & Markings: The deep etched markings are a huge improvement over my old square. Even in poor workshop lighting or when there’s sawdust on the surface, I can easily read the graduations. The white markings against the dark aluminum provide excellent contrast. The scale feels permanently etched – no signs of wear despite heavy use.Functionality: This really does replace multiple tools. I use it as a standard try square for checking 90-degree cuts, as a ruler for measuring lumber lengths, and the protractor function is surprisingly accurate for angle work. The lipped fence is brilliant – it hooks securely onto board edges and stays put while marking lines, which saves time and improves accuracy.Practical Performance: Used it extensively on a recent kitchen cabinet project. The square stayed true throughout the entire build, and the fence made marking consistent dadoes and rabbets much easier. It’s particularly useful for rafter work, as advertised – the large size gives you reliable measurements on 2x lumber.Versatility: From fine trim work to rough framing, this handles everything I throw at it. The aluminum doesn’t leave marks on finished surfaces like steel squares sometimes do.Solid tool that belongs in any serious woodworker’s arsenal. Quality construction that should last for years.

Solid, large-size rafter square that will serve you well
When I first really started woodworking a few years ago, I tried to keep costs down both because I knew I’d make a lot of mistakes and I didn’t know if the hobby would truly take hold. In doing that, I bought a lot of inexpensive tools, including plastic carpenter’s squares. While they were “fine,” over time, they got banged up, the accuracy was questionable and, in general, I knew they weren’t long term solutions. So I’ve been systemically upgrading my various entry-level, plastic, etc. items with ones that’ll stand the test of time much better. This is one of those upgrades. This is a major improvement over my 12-inch plastic version, which had become chipped and broken from use. This aluminum version is significantly sturdier and more durable, and boasts a host of nice measurement and marking features. While I’ve been doing woodworking for several years now, I have to admit I still don’t know how to best use all of those markings! But it’s nice to know they’re there and, when I’m working on something where I need them, it’ll be great. But even for basic usage, this square will serve you well – it’s accurate, rugged and provides flexibility – what more can you ask for? I can definitely recommend it.

Solid & Well-Made Angle Square
Love the bright orange color makes it harder to lose. This carpenter angle ruler is as solid as they come and has super helpful information and clear markings–way better than my dad’s old one. Quickly find angles and verify squareness. Excellent well-made product.
