Appears to be a quality useful tool.
I purchased this item to open plastic enclosed packages and this tool seems perfect for the job. It also includes a small but useful box cutter and a small, reversible screwdriver. The scissors aspect should be perfect for cutting through tough items without getting as dull as ordinary scissors. All in all it looks like a well-designed, well-constructed tool that should provide years of service, but we’ll have to wait to see if it lives up to its promise.UPDATE: I’ve now used this item for several months on a regular basis and can report it excels on opening plastic clam-shell cases, the bane of modern society. The biggest issue has been with cases that are tightly fitted to the object they enclose. The scissors require a little room to clear the enclosed object. It works with even thick plastic enclosures because the scissors are designed to maximize leverage. I also use the box cutter for cutting sealing tape but I find a standard box cutter is preferable if I’m going to be working with a lot of cardboard. I seldom use the screwdriver but its nice to have one handy, often as a pry tool. It’s a keeper.

Love this multi tool. We had one for years until it finally broke, this is the exact tool in a different color. Works great for opening packages with plastic form fitted wrap.

This little tool has been a total game-changer for me. Itâs got three super-handy functions in one: scissors that glide right through tough plastic packages, a retractable X-Acto blade, and even a tiny screwdriver for opening those tricky battery compartments.The grip is comfortable and it doesnât take a lot of hand strength to useâwhich makes a big difference compared to regular scissors or knives. Instead of fighting with impossible clamshell packaging, this just cuts right through cleanly and safely.The only thing Iâd improve is the retractable knifeâit doesnât lock open, so you have to hold it while youâre using it. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting.Overall, though, I love this tool. Itâs smart, practical, and definitely recommend if youâre tired of struggling with packaging or dealing with tiny battery screws!

Does its job well!
This was a replacement for one that I misplaced, which was my go-to tool for opening clamshell and flat plastic packaging and slitting open tape on boxes. I needed a new one anyway, as I had to hold the old one closed with a large rubber band. I have used the new one numerous times since I received it, and it works fantastically. It appears to be high quality. It has a nice feature: The recessed cutter has a cover that flips over it, which is an added safety feature that my old one did not have. This is great if the tool ends up in the hands of young children. I’m very pleased with it. I highly recommend it.

Very Conveniem
This is our 3rd Open It.We lost pieces of the 1st, and the blade on the 2nd broke off when I used it to cut dowels.But, we love this product for birthday and Christmas present opening because it does everything we need to get our children’s toys out of the package and assembled quickly.The screwdriver heads aren’t as good as one with handle, but their great for battery compartments and super convenient to have on a tool.

Goodbye hard-to-open packaging!
My dad bought me one of these years ago. I thought it was the stupidest âdad giftâ thingâuntil I used it the first time. Then I was hooked. After several moves and years of constant use, the closure broke. She still cuts just like Day 1, but I decided maybe a second wasnât a bad idea.The old on slices through even the most awkward packaging and makes opening anything so much more pleasant. And the newer version is even better!The open-close clip used to be one sided, now itâs twoâso much stronger AND easier to open no matter which way I pick it up.The utility knife previously had this difficult little lock on the slide, now itâs a flip cover at the bottom and an easy slide retractor. The flip clicks out of and into place as it moves so it takes intention to open up which is a great design vs safety compromise IMO.The main cutting blades are a little narrower which makes it a little easier to get into tight places.The screwdriver piece is exactly the same but no complaints there, especially as I rarely use it.My original was a gaudy safety-orange colorâgreat for not losing it, terrible for aesthetics. This blue is so much more pleasant to have in my kitchen drawer!I think the handles are a little slimmer too, which is good for my small hands!

The Zibra Open-It is not easy to find except in Amazon. It is indispensable for opening some plastic packaging when using a knife or scissors could be dangerous. All sorts of uses can be discovered over time!

Our old green OpenIt heavy duty scissors lasted about 5 years and bit the dust recently when it would no longer close on cutting and I could not bend the hard metal blades back into working order. So I bought two of the newer version which is a more attractive blue colour and has a flange near the blade pivot to keep the blades aligned during heavy cutting of tough plastic packaging or stiff cardboard. Works very well. The sliding “box cutter” blade has to be held open while using other wise its spring loading slides it back into the handle – a good safety feature. Good price, too! Highly recommended.
