Need up to a 2 3/8 inch diameter hole this is the Step bit to use
I hand drill holes in 2/3/4 inch diameter round PVD pipes to make Hydroponic systems. This bit allows me to cut a 2 Inch Diameter hole easily on a round surface. It avoids the “bit walk” I get with Flat Hex Shank bits and costs much less than a Forstner bit. For me, this works great. It covers various sizes up to 2 3/8 too. Its substantially larger in diameter and weight than traditional Step Drill Bits and can be used on a Drill Press and Lathe tooI wouldn’t hesitate to buy another as needed.

Great bit for thicker materials
This drill bit is a great value for the size range it supports, going all the way up to 2 3/8â. The bit is sharp enough to cut through wood well, it was easy to use and with a shaft diameter of .475â it fit great into my 1/2 drill chuck. The quality is great, numbers are easy to read, only wish it was printed on both sides. Needs to run at a lower speed so it cuts better otherwise it seems to like to grab the material. It likes thicker materials better and seems to grab less. Overall impressed

It’s very sharp!
I was surprised at just how sharp this bit is. It cut right through thick plastic and left a very clean hole. It’s large, I initially thought too large, but I ended up needing the extra diameter for a project. I’m glad I bought it.

Useless hunk of metal. Dull out of the box beyond 1/2″ wide area on bit so can’t use it for anything.

Worked very well. I have a steel door. Very old, meaning thick plating not the cheaply newer ones you find today.I already had a dead bolt size of 1″ 5/8. Old lock. So a hole saw would not work. This cut a 2″ 5/8 hole like butter. Very sharp and no heat marks.

Worked, but could be better
I use this to drill into a piece of 3/8 inch plexiglass. The purpose of this was to make a jig for my Festool router. And it didnât work fine however, there are a few things I think Iâve been better when designing this. First I wish the shank was a little longer. They only give you about an inch to fit into the chalk. Just a little bit of a longer shank would give you some more travel on a drill presses needed. Second I wish when stepping to larger size holes the chamfer ended and there was a straight portion so you could at least on your work piece get a straight edge as opposed to an angled inside edge. Finally my last issue for me. This isnât a bit that Iâm going to be using every day. I wish you wouldâve came with some type of case so I can keep it safe while itâs in my work chest or work table.Overall at work, but there are a few things that couldâve been better.I hope this review and photos were helpful.
