Heavy-Duty E-Bike Hitch Carrier – Fits Tesla Model Y, Folds for Storage, Holds 2 E-Bikes Securely
This is a really strong, heavyweight bike hitch carrier. I installed it on a Tesla Model Y, and it fit perfectly in the factory 2-inch tow hitch. The unit is a little heavy, and aligning it into the hitch can be challenging — it might be easiest with two people. Since the hitch is recessed into the bumper, it was a bit tricky to install the bolt, but a 15/16 socket made tightening it easy.I have two e-bikes, and they fit tightly and securely on the carrier. Loading them wasn’t too difficult without the ramp, though if you’re very small, you might prefer the ramp version. I removed the batteries to save some weight, which made loading even easier.Everything worked well, and I highly recommend this carrier. After removing the bikes, the hitch folds up close to the vehicle, making it convenient for driving when not hauling bikes. Just remember not to pop the trunk while the bikes are on the carrier or when it’s folded up.Pros: Sturdy, secure, folds for storage, fits large e-bikes, well-builtCons: a little heavy and may require two people to load Pros: Sturdy, secure, folds for storage, fits large e-bikes, well-builtCons: Heavy, installation tight in recessed hitch, may require two people to loadHighly recommended for anyone needing a reliable, heavy-duty e-bike hitch carrier.

Great Rack, Good Value, Has Some Quirks
I think this is a great rack for the money. We haul 2 e-bikes across town and have no issues. It’s solid with little vibration, and I feel it securely holds the bikes. Here are my 3 things they can improve:1. Assembly – On the up rods, there are shanks (plastic) that fit into the up rod poles. The purpose to ensure a tighter fit. These took me about 5 mins per pole to assemble and is frustrating. I assembled this by myself, so I was forced to hold two shanks into position while getting a bolt through the mounting bracket and the metal holes of the up rods. That makes six surfaces that must be aligned to get a bolt through. It’s not the end of the world, but just thought they could secure these at the factory for added assistance.2. The Bolt that Attaches the Ract to Hitch is a Screw – There are several comments on this, I would prefer a through bolt vs screw just for ease of “on-off”3. Holding Latches – These work great but they are plastic. I’m worried over time these will wear out and break. So far no issues, but a concern as more uses accumulate. In all, I’d recommend this rack, I don’t think you can beat it for the price. It’s sturdy, it’s easy to get the bikes on and off. The hitch on the rack allows it to fold up for parking, and fold away from the SUV to get into the vehicle. I have a 4Runner and it fits great and does not stick out at all on the sides, as some have mentioned.

Very Good Heavy Duty EBike Rack
Excellent E-Bike rack. After upgrading to heavier Aventon E-Bikes, my old rack was not sturdy enough for these bikes. I was looking for a solid folding rack and settled on this one, and I hoped to leave it on, folded up and locked to my car so it would be less likely to disappear. This rack does a great job to hold both E-Bikes and also fold up afterwards and leave on my car.I was surprised that the Hitch Pin that connects the rack to the 2″ receiver was threaded. I have since learned that this is standard in a lot of bike racks, because it reduces wobble, but the Bike Rack makers have not made it easy to find the correct Threaded Hitch Pin to fit their specific rack. They rarely give the exact size of the “bolt” threads on both the rack and on the different hitch pins. I had to try 4 different ones to get it right. If you measure the threaded pin that comes with this rack, the smooth part is about 1/2″ thick, but that does not help. I tried a Hitch Pin Lock from Young Electric that said 1/2″ in the title and it was too small. So for the record, for this heavy-duty e-bike rack, the specific thread is 16mm Metric with a Coarse Thread. The MaxxHaul 50376 Threaded Hitch Locking Pin does fit this rack for most normal 2″ receivers. It is called a M16 pin in the description. The 3.3″ wide note was not a problem for my receiver. I will add a picture of the pin in my receiver shortly. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CQ6LMSMOtherwise, my only other complaints or suggestions for this rack are as follows:1) The vertical bars for anchoring the center post of the bike are difficult to swing out of the way when loading the bike, especially the inside bike closer to the car. Removing it and reattaching it is annoying. I wish there was a way to pivot them to point up when the square tube was laying flat in the rack.2) The cage that holds the front tire is impressive, but I wish the back tire had more vertical support on each side of the rail to keep it from sliding off, but it does appear to be well anchored. If the strap on the rear tire failed, I could see the tire slipping off and dragging on the ground causing significant damage to the bike. It appears well anchored so far, but I would add 1″ metal on each side of the rail on that half to give additional security and support (Like a U shaped valley) if I could.3) I wish I understood the weight of these EBikes. I had to buy the ramp separately to make loading easier. Young Electric has a ramp, and I have seen the rack sold with the ramp. Purchasing it afterwards added $85 for a folding piece of metal. I would have saved some money if I bought it bundled. You should probably purchased the ramp if your EBikes are not light. It isn’t just the weight, which I can lift, it is how much of the weight is in the rear hub, which requires one arm to lift while the other arm is lifting the much lighter front. Get the ramp. But so far, it is holding well, and I am very happy with the bike rack. If they fixed either of the two issues above (center post or U shaped fencing for the rear tire), this would be a 5 star rack. If they fixed both, it would be a 6 star rack.Update:I have seen comments about the straps in reviews here (“tire hold-down straps will not engage to secure the wheels”) and at least in the video in the review, they are putting the strap in the wrong side of the ratchet mechanism. If they turned it around and stuck the strap in the other side, it engages just fine and holds just fine.

Happy Biker!
This is a great bike rack for our lectric xp 3.0 bikes. It seems very sturdy. I am not sure what others are talking about, but I found the rack to be VERY easy to assemble. Start to finish in 15 minutes. I must have gotten the update straps, because I see no issues with them. The only thing I am not thrilled with is the threaded hitch pin. Why threaded??? Now I have to get down there with a wrench every time I need to take the carrier off of the truck. I mean, I tow a boat with a straight hitch pin with now issues…maybe it helps prevent theft??? All in all, a great purchase.

It’s a high-quality so strong very safe and really take heavy weight. I love it.

I thought I was getting a ramp to roll the bikes on but the bike rack looks robust and looks well designed and good quality.

Bon produit solide.

Easy to put together and install, especially if you have familiarity with hitch accessories (works pretty much the same as any other hitch mounted holder). Main problem is that they force you to use the provided bolt to secure in place on the hitch. I prefer to use standard pins instead. Easier to get on and I have some that come with locks too.
