Does what it should
Works better with medium sized nails than tiny ones, but it works better than the one other nail punch I’ve tried

Not magnetic; won’t hold a nail unless it’s a teeny/tiny finishing nail.
Trim Nail Punch, 7.56 Inch Nail Punch for carpentry tool. I give this product only 3 stars. While I’m not a carpenter or construction worker by profession. I do use nails. In my opinion #1) The hole/mouth should be bigger to accept larger nails other than teeny/tiny finishing nails [regardless, the description lists “7.56-inch” nail which in length is pretty long & would have an enormous head on it]; and #2) the puncher which hoses the nail should be ‘magnetic’ to hold/grasp the nail. I purchased this item to use: nailing a bird house to a tree. I (a novice) opted to use the hole of the bird house to place/hammer the nail to the tree rather than hang it loosely. I needed this product to hold the nail so the nail would be hammering the punch obviously from the ‘outside’ of the bird house. This tool(?) was a NOT useful. Since the nail would NOT magnetically hold the nail kept dropping. My project turned into an exceeded time length than was really necessary especially since the tree is located on a mountain side – way steep it was tenuous trying to stand & nail at the same time. Stupid on my part, but that’s me. I ended up using a flathead screwdriver ðª to strick the nail. Exasperating experience for someone who just wanted to put up a bird house to help accommodate birds over the harsh winter months. Magnetically would have really made a difference. I should really return this product.

Bonus for a great price
I didn’t realize it had a retaining clip. That was a bonus surprise.

Nails get stuck in the springs
The trim nails get stuck in the slots that are supposed to hold it in place. I’ll keep using the solid one. Great idea, poor design.
