Makes cutting them angles, EASY
These are a must for redoing stairs. I had carpet and wanted wood. My house was built in the 80s and nothing is square anymore. These allowed me to cut the tread with ease and without mistakes. I’m a 44 year old woman as well. Saying that because I’m not a contractor who does these tasks on the regular. I’m a woman who is capable so if I think I can, I do. I also bought pre-engineered red oak treads that cost $50 each. This tool kept me from messing any up, wasting money. 100% recommend

VERY easy to use. Good quality
The person I bought this for said it was the BEST tool he has ever received. He replaced the interior stairs from nice hardwood. Having never done it before, he figured it would take him a day to do 2-3 stair treads. He said that this tool make it so easier to measure and use, he was able to replace 7 stair treads in 2 hours. WAY faster than he thought. He said he will recommend this to ANYONE and EVERYONE that has to replace stairs.

Good for a DIYer.
Works as advertised, lower on the quality level but work well for the intended purpose. I have put risers and treads on 3 cases approximately 21 steps each. Still in good shape.

Makes installing LVP on stairs so much easier!
We recently put int LVP. This was a game changer! It made it so much easier to get the accurate size of each step. This was absolutely worth the money.

Don’t do it…
I know what you’re thinking – I’m only going to use this once so I’m not going to spent a lot of money on this thing.Well, same here. I didn’t listen to the reviews and bought it. Nothing but regret. Two of my treads are 1/8 off and most others are 1/16+. Most people may not notice but I do. Every day.The ends don’t stay locked in and by the time you bring the jig to the saw, it’s moved. There are zero instructions included. You might think with such a simple tool you don’t need them but I didn’t find it intuitive, especially given what’s at stake here.Listen…if you’re installing your own stair treads, don’t go cheap here. Treads are expensive and there are no second chances. Spend the money and get a professional jig. You’ll regret it every time you walk up and down your stairs if you don’t.

Good in theory
Great idea but the execution isn’t great. The connections are loose and want to adjust and give which defeats the purpose.

For precise cuts on treads.
Works great
