   Stud repair F-250
   Bought this after I removed the stock running boards on my F-250 and one of the studs broke off during removal. I needed 3 studs to connect the new running boards so I needed a solution. This kit solved my problem. I was able to insert a threaded rivet that remained in place and did not spin. I purchased the correct size bolt and washer and it worked perfectly.

   Works, but the aluminum rivnuts are questionable…
   The tool itself works fine, I have no complaints aside from the mechanism that unthreads the tool after riveting. It’s super tight and feels a little rough. But on the bright side the tool much simpler to use than the ones that come with two big handles on either side. And cheaper.The aluminum rivnuts seemed like a nice idea for my project but man do you have to be careful. You CANNOT over-tighten / over-expand the rivnut or the threads pull out, fail and it basically acts like a pop rivet complete with the same sound as the tool flies out of your hand. Aluminum is pretty weak so you basically have to stick to the lowest tension setting. It does produce functional rivnuts if you do. But I would only use these for lightweight, almost decorative stuff. Nothing that has to carry any load. Bad idea.

   Rivet nut tool kit
   A must have tool, great for small projects and DYI projects. Used this kit couple of times now (M6 rivet nut) and it works just fine, easy to swap inserts for different sizes rivets. I don’t really use all the time so I can tell much about durability but it is doing what supposed to do also I really like that you can adjust how much you want to press so you don’t stripe the rivet nut.
