a lot of real good information from around the turn of the century

Is what it says it is,just not exactly what I had hoped for.
The projects were so traditional, i.e. a hatbox, collar box, footballs, suitcase, mandolin and tennis racket cases, just not what I had hoped for, : moccasins, wallets, shoes, etc. It has some good information about cutting up a hide and different leathers and their qualities though. Also some information about tools and how to use them.

This book does not cover the basics. It does cover the different types of leather and their normal cutting use. Some good projects; Garters/straps, Dog lead, Wrist strap, Letter case, Writing pad, Brush/Hat/etc case, luggage, music case and a few others. I found it a good instruction book for making other items. It’s inception was in the early 1900’s and as such will not be as modern as other books. For olden style or 30s-40s this would probably be the one for you.
