A stud finder with a laser and a level making a significant difference.
I ran across this on Facebook and immediately ordered one. When it arrived, I opened it and took it around the house to use it. The device works by locating the nail or screw used to attach the drywall to the stud, or finds metal stud. You may need to move the stud finder around a bitâthink up and down, along with side to sideâ but when it finds a screw or nail, the magnet grabs onto it, and you can actually let go; it stays attached to the wall (or I was able to). I love the laser marker and level. I struggle to visualize a straight line, which makes it difficult for me to follow one to put in a screw if I am hanging or nailing something that needs to hit a stud. Now for the potential downside. If the build team was not so “on the mark” when buildingâand missed the stud and left the nail or screw in the drywallâyou might get a false reading. I suggest that if you find a nail or screw, go up or down to confirm you find a row of them, not just one (or see if you find more nearby, which has happened to me). Like with anything else that uses a battery, I remove the batteries when I store it. Ziplock bags are your friend here, as I don’t use a stud finder daily or weekly. This is a good device, and the addition of the laser and the level is an improvement on a standard stud finder.

Laser beam and Price
Works well, the laser light is the selling point to me. The leveler is accurate and a handy feature. The magnets do attach to the stud nails very good. I had to slide along the wall up n down to find the stud nails but when I found one I was able to use the laser beam to follow the stud up n down and locate where the board frames were located. This tool will be very handy for me , since I only have small projects to do n hang. The size is easy to hold and manage n easy to store in drawer or tool box. I do feel that they all are alittle pricey, for someone who will barely need to use it but this is probably one of the less expensive one that will do the job with a laser beam . It is a great product n made very well, n accurate. Pleased with quality.

Kreg stud finderâworks well
Good product, performed as advertised and studs I had a question finding were easily found with it. Previous negative review comments were not seen with my useâ¦magnets worked, laser worked (wish it had a laser pointing from each end simultaneously to create a full wall line). Very easy to use and good value

Good Idea in Theory
The product is a great idea in theory, but there are things to consider. Most importantly, this thing will attach to anything metal behind the sheetrock. Therefore if someone put any screws or nails that are not on the studs, you will be wasting time. Also, you have to scan a major part of the wall to find a stud and a nail/screw. Studs are typically 16â apart and the nails vary where they are placed on the studs. I used this in conjuction with an actual stud finder, and the classic âwall knockâ to make sure it was finding a stud and not just a rogue nail. The laser function is pretty cool though because if it finds a stud, you have an easy straight line to follow. Cuts out the need for a T-Square. Overall great in theory but has its flaws.

Simple and easy to use stud finder with a LASER!
This is the handiest stud finder EVER!! I’ve had three or four stud finders in the past. They all said they were the best, even for metal studs which are non-existent in residential construction here in the Pacific Northwest.Well, the KREG unit has the simplest method ever – SUPER strong magnets attach to the wallboard screws/nails.Then just adjust the level bubble to get it perfectly vertical and turn on the laser to sight down the length of that stud id you need to locate the stud in a lower location. SIMPLE!

Just doesn’t work on lathe and plaster – look elsewhere
The idea is great and the Kreg Stud Finder works well on drywall however on lathe and plaster wall, ours anyway, the magnets are just not strong enough to register the nail heads and certainly not strong enough to hold the finder on the wall to allow use of the laser. With the battery, etc, the Kreg Stud Finder is just too heavy. I would recommend, for lathe and plaster, a simple magnet with either audible (a click) or a visual indicator and which is 1/3 the price! In my testing it seemed to work ok for drywall walls.

Kregg KMM magnetic stud finder
I like the compact design of this stud finder and the combination of laser, level bubble and magnetic stud finder in one tool. Some reviewers have questioned the accuracy of the level bubble so you might want to check yours against another level. The laser works very well. Just as I had hoped. My only quibble is the cost of this item. Similar products in the past were much cheaper. I don’t know why lasers seem to have become more expensive. (My purchase was pre-tariff problems.) Currently, this is the best priced combo that I have found.

Brilliant idea and execution with a strong red laser visible in bright light

Buena luminosidad del laser durante el dÃa, sin embargo solo se puede nivelar en el sentido del láser, por lo que cuesta trabajo ajustar para perforaciones a 90 grados
