Works a treat! Super handy and that beep is LOUD.
Listen: You probably don’t need this. A simple bubble level will do you just fine. Probably. But… if you ever want to win a bet, you absolutely NEED this thing. There’s nothing like watching a coworker get all grumpy as he pries his wallet out and gives you that dollar when that beep PROVES you hung that clock level.Functionally speaking, this thing is solid, easy to use, is built like a brick, and fantastically repeatable. The magnets are solid enough to keep it in place, thought I wouldn’t trust them to hold it on a vertical surface.Oh, and that 0 degree beep is LOUD. You’ll be able to hear it over whatever else may be going on, such as a saw or router or dust collector. Getting it to make the beep can be difficult, because it is serious about needing to be perfectly level!Again: You probably don’t need this thing… but dang is it nice to have when you DO need it!

When it Has To Be Accurate
Where precision slope measurements are required, this is a nice tool. Packed in a jewel case for protection during storage, this meter is housed in an aluminum frame with ABS plastic sides, and magnets on the bottom. Horizontal accuracy and display resolution are 0.05 degrees and are easily verified by simply turning the instrument around (thus measuring the reverse value of what was shown when facing forward). [A similar technique is described in the instructions to calibrate.] Angles can be displayed as degrees, mm/m, percent slope (%), or pitch (in/ft). A beep is available for level (0 degrees) or plumb (90 degrees). It even features IP 65 protection from dust and water for use outdoors. When it has to be accurate, this is recommended.

accurate, but with some drawbacks
Handy meter for machine leveling, rigging, possibly furniture building. This is a precise instrument, measures to the hundredths place in degrees, and is priced accordingly. I would not use this to level a camper or your home workbench or other less critical items. It is too fragile and expensive for that. This tool is a little kludgy to use, honestly. I removed a star just for it’s general fussiness, though not having used a digital protractor before, maybe they all are?1. When you tilt the gauge off the measurement plane, it reads “Erro”, which kind of sounds like “error”, but you’d never know because the instructions don’t tell you that. It was only when I set the tool down that I noticed “Erro” went away and it was actually user error. I initially thought I had a faulty unit.2. The battery compartment has the worlds smallest gasket that falls out when you insert the AAA batts. Make sure that’s seated correctly when you put the batts in (they’re included, which is nice).3. The buttons are not intuitive. They make sense once you read the instructions, but don’t throw them away.4. Turning the light on is almost a necessity, it’s otherwise quite difficult to read the LCD. But the light goes off after 30sec, and to turn the light back on you have to press the button that changes the units. When you change the units, the read out is difficult to read again, so you have to hold the thing to your nose to read it, and you better hold it level or it will say “Erro” and not show the units…5. If you’re not looking dead straight at the LCD, it’s difficult to read. I took a photo of the gauge on a machine that was about 7 feet off the ground and you can barely read the value on the LCD.On the upside, it comes in a cutesy little aluminum case. Also I assume it is very accurate (but I do not have another tool that measures with this precision to compare it). The instructions caution that you will need to recalibrate the gauge if you drop it. I hope to never do that, because who has a 0.00-degree reference in their workplace? Or how would they know?

Impressive
This seems to be quite repeatable, and the largest error I’ve spotted so far was 0.1° (and honestly, I don’t know that the reference I used even has that level of precession). It comes well packaged in a very nice metal case. Build quality is great, and the interface is clean an intuitive. I’d highly recommend this.

Backlight Needs to Always Be On, Timeout is Frustrating.
This level appears to be highly accurate. I compared against a standard bubble level, and this level was spot on. I like that you can switch between a few common units of measure for angles.I don’t like how the backlight works. You long press the “Light” button to activate the backlight. After 30 seconds, the light turns off. In order to get the light to turn back on, you have to press any of the buttons. However, pressing the button also performs that button’s function. Therefore, to turn the light back on, you’re going to press a button at least twice. Once to get the light on, and toggle whatever function that button performs. Then again to toggle that function back to whatever you originally had. Due to how the screen works, the back light is necessary all the time. Therefore, turning off the back light after 30 seconds is extremely frustrating. In my opinion, it doesn’t matter how accurate or good the level is, if you can’t see the reading, it is pointless. The level also takes a little to “stabilize”. This makes the 30 second backlight time-out even more annoying. For the price, I would look at an alternative tool.

Handy digital level/inclometer
This is a nice accurate digital inclinometer. Definitely more accurate than a bubble level. (How many degrees is a quarter bubble of plumb?) Very easy to use. It has a nice bright easy to read display and comes with a sturdy case for storage and has magnets in the base if what you’re leveling is steel. Overall a very handy addition to the toolbox.
