Superior value; robust mechanisms both for the bike rack itself and for the attachment system
This is really great value. Works very nicely, with a nice, soundly designed mechanism, at a far more reasonable price point than the obvious competition. The especially brilliant design of the actual mechanism that locks into the hitch receiver deserves notice: it clicks in very easily and cleanly, and locks into the receiver very easily and nicely. This is the opposite of primitive competitor mechanisms that are just a loose metal tube shunted into the receiver and secured loosely with a simple bolt. The Allen Sports mechanism is really excellent, and superior value.

Dollar : value ratio … EXCELLENT.
This is great bike rack for the money. I like that it can fit either the 1″ or 2″ receivers. To use in a 2″ receiver you just add the included adapter plates. Feels good and solid. I was concerned that an adapter would add play and thus wobble. No, it’s nice and tight.Cons:1 -Because the bike(s) is hanging from the bar it will sway. You can solve this buy spending a lot more money on a higher end rack or you can buy a Velcro strap to stop the swaying. I also use such straps to keep the wheels from turning in the wind.2 – Another drawback is the bike tapping against the upright bar – either from swaying or because you’ve strapped it down tight. My solution is to wrap a piece of foam rubber around the upright and secure with two wire ties. Black rubber and black wire ties and it’s hardly noticeable.Pros:1 – Easy to assemble.2 – Versatile in that it works with either large or small receiver hitches.3 – Bang for the dollar is excellent. You will carry two bikes around with no worries.4 – The top bar can be folded down for daily running around and you can still access your trunk. Not sure how that would work on a hatchback. The pin that holds it in upright or folded position is easy to remove and insert and is completely secure.5 – If you need to, you can swing the whole rack down to access your trunk or hatchback. Same pin mechanism as for folding down the top bar.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TRTSMG4/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_35

Sturdy, easy to assemble and use
This rack assembled in about 10 minutes and I added thin rubber and stainless washers under the lock nuts cause I’m weird like that. Very simple assembly and the rack has beefy solid construction. The rack slipped into my Honda Ridgeline’s 2″ hitch and after a few turns of the tightening knob, the rack was rock solid, no wobble at all at the hitch, just a bit of wobble at the tilting joint which I expected. I was anticipating getting a hitch clamp but it certainly wasn’t needed. Drove about 30 miles after picking up my new bike, and the rack was perfect. I could not see it move at all. I did bungee the wheels to each other to keep the front wheel from swaying and put a piece of pool noodle around the frame of the bike so it wouldn’t make contact with the rack and possibly scratch the bike frame (I’ll add some adhesive foam padding to the rack frame to sort this.) The straps stayed tight for the trip and I’ll eventually swap them out for replacement cradles with the rubber ladder straps just so loading and unloading is quicker and easier. Had no problem with removing the rack from the hitch as some others have. I Just turned the knob counter clockwise and the rack pulled right out. This is a cost effective and worry free way to transport your bikes safely. A great purchase!

High quality rack
There is nothing cheap about this rack. It took about 15 minutes to assemble and the instructions were pretty good. My only complaint is it does wiggle a little from left to right; but that is not because of the locking hitch bolt. The problem is the pin, with the snap that allows the rack to drop, does not fit tight. If the rack prevents the trunk from opening then you may have to live with it but it’s not that bad. I’m very impressed with the quality and the price was very reasonable; it was also boxed very nicely unlike the hitch that Amazon sent me.Some adjustments I made:Wiggle: Since lifting my trunk lid does not interfere with the rack. I went to Lowes and bought a 3/8 x 3″ grade 5 bolt and locking nut (has the plastic ring in it; cost 14 cents; the bolt is a buck+) these are in the specialty drawers and they can help you find them. Don’t just grab any bolt get a grade 5 or 8. I then moved the bolt that came with the unit up to where the pin was and put the Lowes bolt in the lowest hole. When you tighten these, there will be no wiggle but you will not be able to rotate the rack down and the pin will need to be cut off or duct taped to the rack (my choice).Just in case: I also bought a strap on Amazon that latches on the back of the trunk lid and loops around the top of the rack. This provides some added strength when you hit a bump but you will need to unhook it to open the trunk lid. (CURT 18050 Bike Rack Stabilizer Strap; it was confusing to put on the first time).Bike strap lock adjustment: I can load both bikes with just 5″s between them but the straps locks are about 10″s apart. So I removed the red ends with an allen wrench and slipped off the plastic 8″ tubes and cut them in two lengths of 3.5 and 4.5 inches. Then slipped the 4.5″ tubes on then the strap locks then the 3.5″ tubes and put the red ends back on. Now the bikes are snug together and this puts less pressure on the rack. At least I think so.Hopefully, none of this voids the warranty but all three of these should make the rack safer IMHO.

Perfect vehicle e-bike rack for me
This is a perfect bike rack, exactly what I wanted. It’s light but sturdy. It’s quick and easy to install and remove, and it comes with an integrated hitch lock. It’s has a very small footprint for storage, or for just leaving attached to vehicle. And it holds two e-bikes sturdily and securely. Very simple to load/secure and unload bikes. I’m over 50 and not particularly strong, and for me, at least, it’s not as difficult to lift a 60 lb e-bike up onto it as you might initially think it would be.

Good bicycle carrying, hitch mounted transportation device, can be locked (but not the bicycles) and the price is low.
