Nice electrical tool set for DIYers
I am a DIY guy and do most of my own everyday electrical work. I previously had a collection of misc tools that I kept in a tote bag especially for electrical work. So when I saw this, I thought having a complete set of tools like this would be great to have.First impression: Everything came neatly in a carrying case. The tools were secured by an elastic holder that in some cases made it a little hard to extract the tool because it was so tight. In addition, as I show in one picture, the elastic on the slip join pliers had torn away from the case. SO not sure how long those straps will last. The tools are colored pretty much them, and I like that as it will make it easier to distinguish these electrical tools from my other tools.I have already used these to install three new light fixtures. Not really much to say other then the tools worked as they should. The screwdriver tips are magnetized and in fact did retain the screw. This was great since I was working over head and in the past have dropped screws using no magnetic screwdrivers. I did not use the wire stripper or voltage as I have another wire stripper and voltage tester in my kit that I use. But quick tests show that they work as they should.Overall not a bad set for a DIYer to have and would recommend for that. This gives me a complete set of dedicated tools. I probably will not use the included case and instead will put most of these in my electrical tools tote bag.I got these free as part of the Vine program, but I only participate to try things that i an actually need and will use. I try to give a fair and honest opinion and rating based on how it meets my needs.

Karryton Insulated Electrician Tool Set: Better end of the China tool lines
This set was my first introduction to the “KARRYTON” brand of tools. Over the years, the range of options for made in China tools has certainly expanded, with many better quality options now available even if the brand name is not familiar. This KARRYTON set is clearly positioning to be at the better quality end of the spectrum of tools from China based makers that may not be well-known brands. So just a few particular points to comment on for this set: (1) The case that the tools came is much nicer packaging and presentation than typical, however for everyday use, I don’t think I will be keeping these in the provided set case – both for the space issue and because of having to un-Velcro the strap holding the pliers/cutters. (2) The 3 pliers type tools in the set appear almost identical and likely came from the same manufacturing line as items from the “QUINN” branded tools carried by Harbor Freight Tools – again marketed as one of the upper-end lines of their range of China brand tool options. and (3) The wire stripper tool in this set was a completely different tool design than I have seen anywhere else. If you are stripping ends from the same size wire all the time, this is an interesting tool design, however if you are switching between different wire gauges, I think I prefer the more common design with multiple openings to strip for the various wire sizes with no re-adjustments needed. So all-in-all a nice set of well insulated tools for electrical work from Karryton.

    Good overall set
I am not a professional, but I am an above average DIY homeowner when it comes to electrical work.Using insulated tools when working with electricity obviously good safety practice, however it can be expensive to obtain an entirely separate set of specialized tools. While electrical pros will look elsewhere for a set, a cost savvy DIYer like myself may find this set attractive for its price, and what it offers. There isn’t much else I would want from an insulated tool set, and frankly it has more than I will ever likely need. My only gripe is that I really prefer spring loaded pliers for this type of work, so the included needle nose pliers are the one tool I wish they would have added that to. This is a great set to add to your toolbox personal preferences aside. When writing this review, I looked at professional name brand tools that are insulated, and just a screwdriver set exceeds the cost of this unit that includes pliers and other tools. So its a good value overall.
