GOOD VALUE!
Purchased this crimper for installing 4 Guage wire on my automobile amplifier. It worked good. I first crimped the terminal end with a slightly larger sized die block set and then finalized the crimp with the correctly sized die block set. This method resulted in a very professional looking terminal end. I tested it mechanically by physically trying to pull apart the wire from the crimped connection but it remained tight. Very nice job results and well worth the purchase price. Update: The crimped wires pulled loose. I had to recrimp them with the next smaller sized dies. Using the next smaller sized dies worked and now, finally, the wires are both mechanically and electricly 100% in working order.

Good tool
This is a fine tool. It’s as easy to use as any tool for this purpose. It fits in tighter places and is far less work than the standard type I’m very glad I bought this tool and I think it’s a pretty fair price too.

Will crimp your cable, not your style.
If you’re going to do any crimping you need one of these! I have a large pair of cable cutter crimpers, but they are awkward to handle and difficult to use. This little hydraulic setup is compact and efficient and will crimp with the best of them. It comes in a nice case and includes various dies for different size crimping applications. My only complaint is that the casting for the frame section is a bit rough and, as such, the part where the die is supposed to ride in the channel doesn’t always hold the die as well as it could. As such, you need to make sure the die is properly aligned, although it could possibly line up with the upper die as pressure is applied. Finally, I wish it had come with a hardened set of cutter dies for cutting lock shackles in an emergency. Overall, it’s a nice set that will meet most requirements and should last a very long time.

Great a must jave tool for car audio
Great working tool for terminal car audio

Works well
I used it building high tensile fencing. It functioned as it should, I have issues with my hands that make using traditional crimpers difficult. This tool made the job much easier.

Incredible battery terminal lug installer!
You canât live without this tool if installing wire terminal lugs!

Good tool, just overkill for my project.
I think this tool was overkill for my project. I needed to clamp fittings on 1/8â aircraft cable for deck railings. This tool is more designed for battery cables and such. The instructions were unclear about which die to use and I first tried the number 8 die, which said was to be used for 1/8â inch cable. In the carrying case there were two loose #4 die, which I finally concluded were the right ones to use for 1/8â aircraft cable. Overall the product worked and Iâm happy with the results. It just took a lot of pumping before compression could begin. I should had paid more attention to what I was buying, as the product is clear that it is designed for larger cables.

Great Buy
In the process of building a small battery bank and the pre crimped wires available are all either to big or to small. This allowed me to crimp my own wires and made the project much easier

This kit has gotten me through making up cables to connect up solar, battery and inverter set ups on RV’s. With the current carrying wire size requirements for this application, being able to route and cut wires to the optimal size required making up custom length cables a necessity. This meant adding the appropriate sized ends for the gauge of wire and terminal posts size they connect to.The cost of good quality large copper cables in addition to the undesirable added resistance from using cables longer than necessary required the wire to be routed and cut to size during installation. Depending on the connected device the post diameters can differ where you will have one post diameter on one end and a different one on the other. To do the job properly comes down to making custom cables on site. The tool works well crimping on ends. There is sufficient pressure to get a solid crimp. It’s also more compact to operate when working in tight spaces than the other long hinged type that uses mechanical leverage to crimp versus hydraulic pressure. It also packs up better into a more portable kit.I did find in some instances making a crimp then moving down a die size and making it again. This could be from me misinterpreting the required metric die size for the wire gauge I was crimping or the thickness of the ends I used being inconsistent. In any case lining up the faces of the previous crimp and re-crimping solved this which brings me to the one issue where there’s room for improvement. The dies are stamped with metric die sizes which requires cross retrenching a table in the instructions to see which fits a particular wire gauge. It would be simpler to have simply marked the dies with the wire gauge as it’s being used for electrical wire; or at least in my case. Possibly those markings are convenient for some other purpose but it would seem for it’s main purpose wire gauge markings would be more appropriate and convenient.

Ist zwar nicht unbedingt ein Profiwerkzeug, aber das PLV ist super.Jede Menge Crimpeinsätze mit dabei. Macht einen soliden Eindruck. Ich würde die Crimpzange wieder kaufen.

Excellent product, makes awesome crimps.I would purchase again when eventually wears out. Have it as a shop tool in commercial repair applications.

This Brileine crimper for battery lugs works very well. It applies an incredible amount of force when creating the crimps that ensure the lugs stay well attached to the cable. The crimper comes with a large number of dies, some replacement seals, and a cable cutter that I was able to successfully cut 6AWG and 1/0AWG cable with. There is an included instruction sheet that provides guidance on which die set to use based on either the wire gauge or the diameter of the lug. The lugs I have did not match the sizes in the chart, but it gave me a starting point (the 6AWG I had needed one size down to get a good crimp but the 1/0 was good).I do wish that the pump handle had a spring in it so it would automatically open when you released pressure. You do have to “push” the handle open before performing the next pump, which can be a bit awkward when trying to ensure the lug stays seated on the cable, especially if you have a bit smaller hands. In the past I have used a hammer style crimper to build my cables. While it worked, it is not the best/strongest method. This is a massive upgrade to that system. I have rebuilt 3 different wire sets for inverters and an interconnect for 2 x 6 Volt (wired in series) with no issues.
