Wish I had one before
This may sound silly but it was fun. I mostly use it on cardboard so far But it’s easy to use feels strong, definitely does the job safer than a utility knife. If anyone happened to take it home with her ( I love her) I’d buy another one for sure. Good quality . Fairly quick and fun did I mention fun ?

Charge Time: 3 hrs ▮ Runtime: 40 mins ▮ Regular Speed: 255 RPM ▮ Boost Mode: 285 RPM
If there’s any competition for best looking cordless electric scissors though, it would have to be Fanttik. And they happen to have just come out with new cordless electric scissors. But it’s all so aggravating, because the new Fanttik electric scissors have at least a couple of features that would make me prefer them over HOTO’s electric scissors. And then HOTO’s have at least a couple of features that would make me prefer them over Fanttik’s.For HOTO’s electric scissors, it would be the self sharpening feature and the titanium coated blade for starters. And I really like being able to change the blade with no tools. The digital display is really nice to have too, of course. Then there’s the hard case. Which is definitely a big plus, but it’s not a great case. The material on the inside and the outside are both magnets for dirt and debris. As for charging HOTO’s electric scissors, all they say to potential customers is that it has a 2000mAh battery that has a runtime of 40 minutes. Then they say, “Fast-charging Type-C port (cable included) reduces waiting time.” But there’s no mention of how long it takes to charge it. Well, once you purchase it you get to find out why. Because it charges at a snail’s pace of 5V—1a (5 watts). Certainly NOT fast-charging… AND, even the instructions don’t say what the charging time is. However, I finally found on the box that the charging time is 3 hours. I’m taking a star off though, for telling potential customers that it has “fast-charging.”Anyway, the features that the Fanttik has (the new C10 Pro, NOT the C8 Nano) that I wish this one had, would have to mainly be the higher RPMs, the bi-directional cutting, and the strange blade mount that it has. Or whatever it’s called. It also has two speeds like the HOTO, but instead of one being a temporary boost they are just two separate speeds. For the HOTO though, all they give is the maximum RPM, which I assume refers to the RPM of the boost mode. And I assumed correctly, because I finally found the RPM of the regular speed on the box. So then, the HOTO’s regular speed is 255 RPM and it’s boost mode speed is 285 RPM. And for the Fanttik, it’s low speed is 350 RPM and it’s high speed is 600 RPM.As far as charging goes for the Fanttik though, they don’t give the charge time either. But they also don’t say what the battery capacity is OR what the runtime is. All they say is that it charges at 5V—2a (10 watts). Other than that, theirs just has a bag instead of a nice hard case with a zipper like HOTO’s comes with. And they try to make out like changing the blade doesn’t require any tools, but it does. It requires their special tool that comes with it. And if you lost that? Well then, I guess you’d be up 💩 creek without a paddle, right? Lol.So there you have it folks. I hope my comparison was helpful. And regardless of my negative points, the Fanttik cordless electric scissors and the HOTO cordless electric scissors are both obviously very impressive, but I chose to go with HOTO’s. And I am plenty happy with my purchase. Well, happy with everything except how the safety button works…Oh, and by the way. I DID see another cordless electric scissors out here on Amazon that claims to have a maximum power of 800 RPM. It’s just not near as good looking, lol.

Will it really cut cardboard and other materials
Buying from Amazon and other on line order stores, you definitely need this cordless cutting tool!It cuts cardboard and other packaging materials like a hot knife through butter.I wish we had purchased one of these a long time ago.

Defective product with no tech support.
Received mine with an E2 display right out of the box. I’m assuming its an error code. Have not heard anything back from HOTO tech support. It doesn’t run or charge up. Getting ready to return the product.

Good for a tradesman, perhaps, but not very useful for household consumer.
This was a great disappointment for me. I’m a great fan of HOTO tools and have 4 others so far. Because of this, I was eager to receive and review this cutting tool.As the title suggests, this tool might be an excellent addition to a tradesman’s arsenal, but as for household tasks, it’s just a gadget that is rarely better than and often not quite as good as the tools you probably already have around the house.Unfortunately for me, I latched onto the one task this electric scissors does most poorly, cutting fabric. My wife does a lot of crafty things and I thought this could be a helpful tool. Not so much.Aside from cutting large bolts of thick fabric, this tool is less convenient, less precise and less effective than manual scissors. The problem appears to be mostly about thickness and weight (see video and second image). This power tool can’t handle thin fabric and it certainly can’t manage precision cuts. For craft and home sewing jobs, you’d be better off with a craft knife and mat (see first image).PROS° Quality built° Self-sharpening (although I haven’t had it long enough to test this and there are no instruction on how this works)° Great at [slowly] cutting cardboard.° Nice zippered caseCONS° Poor for making precise cuts in any fabric and unusable for cutting thin fabric° Expensive for a tool that would have infrequent use in the home° Design -As mentioned in my video, the placement of the safety button makes turning the unit on very cumbersome and difficult.° Lack of detailed instructions -There is a voluminous booklet of “General Power Tool Safety Warnings” in dozens of different languages, but the user guide is a tiny card, printed on both sides with rudimentary drawings to indicate basic functions (English only). This card also has an even tinier QR code to “access additional usage guidelines” but this only takes you to the HOTO site on which there is no mention of the EdgeFlow Cordless Electric Scissors anywhere to be found.I suspect this is because it’s a brand new product, but the lack of release preparation here is profound. I’d come to expect better form HOTO.NEUTRAL (observations that are open to interpretation)° There is a Boost button on this tool that changes the sound/pitch of the motor and displays an LED countdown. Beyond that, I didn’t notice any change in actual performance of the cutter. Perhaps this is for really thick leather. It’s hard to say because there are no instructions.° This thing is very slow when cutting cardboard. I receive a lot of mail order products so I have a lot of boxes to break down. The EdgeFlow Cordless Electric Scissors is probably much safer to use than a traditional box cutter, but it’s about the least efficient way to go about tearing down boxes.CONCLUSIONIf you like to collect cool tools or you’re a professional carpet layer/leather worker and haven’t gotten around to buying the specialized tools of your trade, you may want to pick one of these up.Otherwise, I fail to see much value in this product.Out of the tasks listed on the box (cutting cardboard, leather, carpet and plastic packaging), only the packaging is something that this reviewer can imagine being a common household need (When is the last time the average homeowner wanted to cut carpet?) and $100 is a lot to pay for something to open plastic packages when one probably already owns scissors.

These cordless electric scissors are surprisingly capable and make light work of tougher materials like cardboard, providing a smooth, fast and consistent cut. They’re ideal for DIY projects, packaging tasks, or crafting sessions where manual scissors would be tiring or too slow. The battery charges fully in around three hours, which gives roughly 40 minutes of continuous use—more than enough for most small jobs. If you do need a bit of extra power mid-cut, the temporary boost function comes in very handy and helps you get through thicker sections without snagging.Blade changes are straightforward and can be done quickly, and the self-sharpening feature is a thoughtful addition that keeps the cutting edge in good shape over time. Overall, a practical and reliable tool that makes cutting jobs significantly easier.
