Great product
Multi directional laser is must have feature in a laser level, itâs made solid, works great, and extremely accurate from day one and believe I checked

One of the best tools in my toolbox
The magnet on this thing is serious! The lasers make squaring pipe an easy one man job. The vails I have found unreliable tho. Iâve had 2 and neither have matched my Milwaukee or other Johnson levels that all match each other

Accurate enough for me
I have learned the hard way that many measuring devices are not accurate enough to be useful for anything. My experience with levels has been no exception. My old laser torpedo level ceased operation and I needed a replacement. I chose the 40-6184 based on the fewer negative reviews and personal experience with my Johnson 24â beam level, which is accurate enough for my use. I purchased the level knowing there was a high probability I would return it. I was pleasantly surprised to find the horizontal accuracy acceptable. It is a 10â level and I had to place a .003â shim under one end to get the most accurate reading I could visually discern (flipping end to end). Projected to 10 ft that is about 1/32â error. Not perfect, but this is not a machine tool grade level. I am sure I introduce as much or more error in reading the level in a typical application. For the record, my 24â Johnson level needed .005â shimming. At 10 ft, thatâs a bit under 1/32â error. The vertical level was off more than acceptable, but Johnson provides a calibration feature for it. I dialed it in to where I need it. Finally, I checked the y-axis laser accuracy relative to level. While the dot is larger than I would like to have, you just work to the center of it. I have an 8 ft surface flat to +/- .003â. The laser dot was spot on level over the 8 ft. I donât have a reliable way to check the vertical and x-axis beam accuracy to the same confidence as the y-axis horizontal.I canât speak to the durability and I agree with a previous review on the robustness of the laser switch. Its design quality does not match the overall craftsmanship of the level.Other than being heavy, I have no other complaints and recommend this level. Just check it for accuracy when you get it. There may be variation from batch to batch. If you donât really need a laser, there are higher quality torpedo level options available in the same price range, but this was the best I could find in a laser torpedo level and I would have been willing to pay twice as much to get a better one.I give it 5 stars based on its performance relative to reasonable expectations for a laser level at this price point.

Good
Spot on laser no troubles so far level is accurate so far so good

Good quality laser level
Only two issues discovered upon first use. Battery compartment screw cap does not work well. Very fiber aluminum threads that can be EASILY cross threaded. Also the 3 batteries are extremely difficult to get out. Too tight of a fit. But overall a good tool.

Visible in daylight outdoors but expensive.
This laser is visible in daylight, outdoors. It is also visible for a further distance than most. I donât know exactly how far it is visible but I have used it 75ft in bright daylight. Loweâs did carry a different brand that would do the same thing for a fraction of the cost but they are no longer available so I was forced to pay the high price for this one when I left my Kobalt (from Loweâs) on a job site. The Kobalt was under $20 and this Johnson is over $100. Not happy about the price but it is a good product.

Test it when it arrives!
Typically such a great product, but this one was dead right out of the box. I bought it for a specific job and my last one worked for 5 years so I didn’t test it when it arrived. Sure enough I used multiple sets of batteries but now its just a heavy 4 dollar torpedo level. ARGGGHHH

Double ender –
Great tool for pipe fitters. I only use it a couple of times a year, but handy to have when required. Don’t bother using the bubbles, they are no good. The lasers were a little off when I got mine, but was easy to calibrate using a small hex wrench.

Worked as expected

had one before but was stolen. fantastic for laying anything out

Had a different brand for 14 years before I left batteries in it too long and destroyed it. This one is identical so expect it to last longer provided I remember to remove batteries before they burst. This tool is invaluable to any tradesman or handyman who needs to perform high accuracy work where plum is important. Perfect to determine if chassis or trailer framing is twisted or out of square.
