Good lock. Follow kryptonite instructions for the mount!
Great lock kit. Reviews say this is good against just about everything but a very highly skilled locksmith or an angle grinder. Some reviews state that the mount is flimsy. However, if you follow the directions and watch the kryptonite video on YouTube, install the mount correctly, and tighten it down really well, it’s nice and secure.

Solid, small lock great for small framed bike lock on college campus
First. We all need to understand. Any bike can be stolen no matter what bike lock you use. A bike lock is a deterrent. Like “hey steal the bike next to me, it does not have a lock it will be easy”. That said this mini-7 is quite stout. Any thief will at least need to work a little, and carry the proper tools.This mini-7 was purchased for college student who would leave bike outside in a rack along with many many other bikes. So far so good.Its a safety/protection device. You cannot always put a price on safety/protection. However, I sure would be nicer if it was a bit less expensive.Pros:- great size- nice frame mount options- two keys included- optional theft insurance- pleasing color scheme- excellent build quality- reputable / trusted nameCons:- not clear/easy, cable storage on the frame- its small (duh its a mini, but be careful about buying this, it might be to small to lock both a wheel+frame to a solid support)- priceyWould I purchase again: YesWould I recommend to others: Yes

Saved my bike, but only barely
I had my bike locked up for a few hours in the city. When I came back the u-lock had been cut through on one side, but my bike was still there! Because both sides of the u are locked in place, the thief couldn’t take the lock off my bike even though he cut through one side. I still got lucky here that the thief didn’t cut it a second time and steal my bike. Not sure if he ran out of battery or someone interrupted him.This is a good u lock that requires two cuts to steal, unfortunately with modern electric cutters a thief can do that in a few minutes. You need to spend at twice as much to get a lock that will last longer, and even then you are only buying a few more minutes that it will take to cut through the lock (maybe 8 minutes instead of 4)Everything else about the lock seemed pretty well designed. The frame mount works well and the keys turn smoothly in the lock.

Worth Every Penny
It’s easy to get into “analysis paralysis” when looking for bike locks on here. This one delivers on a few specific things I was looking for:1) You don’t read too many reviews from people that bought a heavy duty lock, such as this, yet still got their bike stolen.2) I like that it comes with a cable. Even though I know it’s only the U-Lock that truly protects the bike and that cables can easily be cut…wrapping it around your tires and other things thieves may want to steal provides that extra annoyance that can ward off those looking for a “quick grab”.3) I like that the U-Lock can essentially be mounted anywhere on the bike. There are a few different locations they recommend mounting it, and having those options means you don’t have to choose between mounting your bike lock or having a water bottle holder. You can finally have both.4) I like that it comes with 3 medium-duty keys that easily fit and turn inside the lock. I’m one of those people that will probably lose 1 or 2 keys of any set I am given, so this is great. Also, I never felt like I had to force the key to get it to turn (in fact, if you’re forcing it you’re probably doing it wrong).5) I like that the U-Lock buckles in on both sides, making it harder for someone to try and jam the lock off.All in all, if someone really wants to steal your bike, they will. But making it harder and more annoying for them to do so, and buying a heavy duty lock that will make their life difficult, significantly decreases the likelihood of that happening. I live in a medium-sized city (less than 1 million) where bike theft is very common and I feel comfortable leaving my bike locked up outside for hours with this one.

Update: Lock cylinder sticks
Update:Kryptonite quickly replaced the faulty lock. The new lock looks identical, but is noticeably smoother in both the key operation and the shackle operation. It even slides into the holder more smoothly.Previous review below:The whole lock seems very sturdy, and doesn’t weigh too much for what it does. But… if only the cylinder worked reliably. There have been more times than not that I have had to spend a minute or more fiddling with the key to lock or unlock. I had an On Guard Bulldog Mini that seized up that led to buy the Kryptonite. The (less expensive) Bulldog lasted 6.5 years – the grass is not greener… The Kryptonite started acting up within months. A headache. Avoid.

High Quality but tricky
This lock has to be locked and unlocked a very particular way. It was tedious for me. I lost the keys so I have to order new keys. It seems very sturdy. I would still strongly recommend it for enhanced bike security. Tedious to put in place and tedious to remove.

2021 version never worked and Kryptonite would not help with it
Expensive lock that never worked, and Kryptonite would not help me with it at all. The pieces in the bar with the key don’t shift when the key is turned. It was sticky and difficult upon purchase, but all Kryptonite would tell me is to try to lubricate it. I’m glad I stopped using it because I would have had to have it cut off my bike – the thing doesn’t budge. Lubricating it does nothing. I clearly got a faulty one and Kryptonite refused to do anything about it. Anyone know where to recycle these things?

Muy buen candado en U y el cable es muy práctico, recomendarÃa que estuviera un poquito más largo el cable para poder amarrar ambas llantas pero de ahà en más todo excelente, me siento seguro dejando mi bicicleta donde sea.Si amarras tu bicicleta en tubos grandes se te va a complicar porque es algo chico el cantado pero si lo dejas en lugares especiales para amarrar las bicis está perfecta la medida
